Our Country is Becoming a War Zone

Wow! You guys take my breath away! In the last few days we have had 120 new subscribers! Keep it up my friends. Much more good stuff to come.

I have been watching the mess in our country, and I am sure you have been too. When will it end? What do we need to do to stop it? President Trump said he would send in the military if needed, but of course, the Democrats said that is only inciting more unrest. So what do the Democrats suggest? I have heard nothing.

We never thought about having to use the actual military in our own country to clear up a mess like this. Our country is changing due to the amarchest who are trying to bring down the government.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally believe in PEACFUL demonstrations, but not violence, looting, and burning down businesses.

I even saw some rioters burning the United States flag.

We even had protests in my home town of Salem, Oregon. Less than two miles from here. That is getting too close for me. I will protect my family till my last breath.

Now that I have let off some steam, let’s think about our brothers and sisters who are harms way. They are in trenches, in tanks, hunkered down, because of bullets flying over their heads.

Our military have their own war zone much worse than we have here in our streets.

I was deployed to South Korea. I knew the dangers of what I was getting into. I did it because of my love for my country, and wanting the South Koreans to be safe.

I know you have done the same thing, or are now serving your country. In my opinion, you are all heroes! You took the extra step and enlisted. You also knew what you were getting into, and yet you served.

Some of you came home with horrific memories. Some of you are living with war wounds. Some of your buddies were lost.

You are not alone. You must always remember that. You have many fellow veterans right here at this site. You have brothers and sisters, who care. They know what you have been through and have your six.

If you are struggling more than you can handle there is a hotline you can call for help. 800-273-8255 (option # 1)

A National Guard Soldier Became a Hero During the Riots

What a wild weekend with no end in sight. Protesters are causing much damage and injury. It is senseless, because it isn’t about the death of someone any more. It is just plain anarchy.

A story I saw today on TV was that a SUV was racing towards a crowd of protesters. The National Guard tried to get him to stop. He kept coming. They tried other methods to try to stop him. He kept coming.

A hero is born.

A Lone National Guard soldier fired three shots at the vehicle, because the driver was also heading toward some police officers who were right behind him .

All three bullets hit the SUV. The driver panicked and drove away.

That National Guardsman, saved many lives with his courage. He didn’t want to kill. He just shot at the rig and not at the windows.

You probably won’t hear much about this in the Fake news, but he is my hero.

I thought I would share another interview with you today. This one may make you cry, or be angry:

Sgt Michael Thorin, was in charge of a group of vehicles, which was to guard the carvens that move from place to place. Their job was to fight off any agressers when they attack.

On one of the days they were ride along with a convoy, when the rig right in front of Sgt Thorn caught on fire with two men in it. Sgt Thorin jumped out of his rig and raced to the scene. It was too late. There was a massive fire immediately. He had to watch while his buddies burned to death.

He is still dealing with that today.

There is a much longer story and interview about this hero in my up coming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In an Out of the Trenches of Life.

I have many such interviews. Many very sad. Some very funny. I will try to let you see them as time goes by.

I have been near death!

Back in 2001, I was a basket case. I couldn’t function properly. I was driving my Ford Explorer one day and I was crying. I didn’t know why. It was getting pretty bad, so I turned into a high school parking lot and stopped. I was getting worse. The windows were all fogged up from my sobbing.

I was sitting there thinking of checking out of this hotel called earth.

I finally cried out to god, “ I can’t take this anymore!” Instantly I stopped crying and the windows started clearing up. It was if God said, “It is about time you came back to me . Now let me carry you the rest of the way.”

My life completely changed that day. I am not saying everything was rosy right away. I still had some struggles, but knowing that God was there with me, gave me strength to carry on.

I went home and opened my desk drawer, and saw some journals I had been writing. They were full of my hurts, but also some days that were good. I realized that this needed to be written. I wrote a book called, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.” I was able to get it published. It went on to win a national award from the Reader’s Favorite Awards.

So now, I am on my second book that I started about three years ago. It is called, “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.” It reaches out to all veterans who are seeking hope.

I will be updating you on the progress of this book, and share some excerpts from time to time. If you would like to read those excerpts, please subscribe at the top of this page where it says “Subscribe,” When you do all future posts will directly to your inbox.
