I just bought a “generation 4,” I-Pad. I am kind of lost right now, but through trial and error I will do just fine eventually. I am trying to hook up the router today, but no success. Yes, I know, routers are one of easiest things to get started. However, I am a dinosaur when it come to computers, and electronics.

I have a friend coming over tomorrow morning to help me get everything hooked up. I even have a new wireless printer. I am trying to catch up fast, and when I have learned all of this I will be an official member of the geek squad!

It can be devastating when someone you cares about has a stroke, or a heart attack. I have three close friends have a stroke. One passed away. the others and mending slowly. I also had a dear friend that had a heart attack about five months ago. he was close to death, but God pulled him through it. He is so thankful today, that he spends much of his time praising the Lord, and giving Him all the credit for still being on this earth.

Have you had this happen to you? Has a loved one been stricken?

When it first happens, our world, as we know it seems to stop. We can’t function very well. We go into doubt, and even anger.

We have no control of the outcome. We feel helpless.

My father died in 2001, and I was at the hospital with him when he died. I just sat there by his bed, and felt hopeless. I held his hand, and he squeezed it once and a while.

Then he stopped doing that and he was gone. I had mixed emotions right then. Part of me was relieved that he wasn’t suffering anymore, and was at peace. The other part grieved that he had left me.

I know that many of you have been through the same thing.

I pray very hard for a peaceful passing of my loved ones when something happens and they know it won’t be much longer. I pray with earnest love, when they tell me that there is hope. I prayer for strength when they are gone, and I am left alone.

Do you see a pattern here? Prayer is the direct communication line to God. There are no rate fees, special charges, or long distance fees. He is on speed dial 24/7.

He is just a prayer away. He is listening. He cares.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I saw a report that eBooks are starting to slow down in sales. They reached their peak and have leveled off. What does this mean?

It means that, if you have a truly good book, it doesn’t matter what the trends are. Your book will sell in any market at any time if it is well done, wins awards,  and has good reviews.

My book, “Signs of Hope: ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” recently won an award from Reader’s Favorite Awards. It also has received several five star reviews.

This has helped it keep good sales going.

Never feel that trends are what controls the industry. Good writing, and promotion controls the industry.

I went to a friend’s house last night to see some slides he had taken while he visited Israel. I thought, ” Oh boy, here is another of those boring slide shows put on by an amateur.”

I was very wrong. Don Phillips had a wonderful presentation filled with fascinating stores of his trip. He was very emotional the whole time while showing the slides. He kept saying things like, ” This is where Jesus prayed and sweat blood. This is where Peter denied knowing Jesus. This is where they think Jesus was buried. This is the Mount of Olives, where Jesus will come down to someday.”

As he went through the slides, I too got emotional. I decided that I had to go to Israel myself some day. I added it to my “bucket list.”

With Israel being attack by the Hamas, and many other countries in the Middle East trying to destroy it, the end times doesn’t seem to much like a fairy tale anymore. For those who are skeptics, the writing is on the wall.

I have read the end of the book (Bible) and God wins!

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Sharing Unconditional Love Could Change the World

I had one post recently on writer’s block. Today I was writing OK, but just needed to get away from the computer. My back was hurting, and my vision was getting blurry.

Today, I stopped, and did my laundry, loaded the dishwasher, and watched a movie. That was enough time to rest my eyes from the close screen, and flex my back a little.

There are times when writer’s block isn’t the only problem. You may need to get away just to refresh yourself.

Some of us are so disappointed in what we see as love— even to the point we can’t imagine God’s love.

I have a friend who was all set to be married, and his wife, to be, told him she changed her mind and left him broken hearted just weeks before the wedding. To add an insult to injury, she married another guy within six months. My friend has never married, and is still careful about his relationships with women.

The problem is—human love is convenient.  It’s limited.  We can’t depend on it.  It’s hormones—it’s emotional.  Like eating the wrong thing before you go to bed.  It felt good at first—but now?  Not so much! It actually leads to heart burn.

However, God’s love is unlimited.  It is commitment. God has feelings for us, but his feelings don’t dictate his love.  God’s love is based on His decision!  His love is deeper and more secure than anything you’ve ever experienced in your life. God never Changes. His love is eternal.

So what do we do to make our love a better version?  How about if we express God’s love in our human relationships? How about we become that “someone” in the life of another who can look back and say, “I saw God’s love in them!”

I realize that could be very hard to do if you were like my friend. He did nothing wrong. He was struck down for no reason. However, I can tell you that my friend is a most loving guy, that may not know how to show it sometimes, but he would give you the shirt off of his back.

This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent his Son to die in our place to take away our sins.  Dear friends, if God loved us that much we also should love each other. No one has ever seen God, but if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is made perfect in us.  I John 4:9-12″

If we could show that much love, the world would be a very different place.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken,

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
