Thoughts just for you..

As I sat watching hundreds of people walking by my author’s table, I could see stories there. Some people seemed lost. They were walking aimlessly. Others seemed to be on a mission. They couldn’t get where they were going fast enough.

Then there were the curious. They stopped by and asked me about my book. They looked at the title, “Signs of Hope.”  They wanted to know what some signs of hope were. I told them about faith. I told them about never giving up. I shared with them that they were special, and that they had purpose in live.

That didn’t always sell a book, which would have been nice, but that isn’t my main purpose being at the State fair.  The people  left with a new look on their faces. They had hope. They seemed to have  a new bounce in their feet.

Do you have that feeling of anxiety, fear, depression, self-doubt, or even hopelessness haunting you?

You need to know that you always have a friend with you. You have a heavenly Father who cares about you. He will see you through the muck and the mire. He will hold your hand during the storms of life you face.

Never assume no one cares.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up.

Thoughts just for you…

Sometimes trying to live a perfect Christian  life can be so difficult that it leaves us drained and discouraged. We may feel so far from perfect that we may never please God with our lives.

Those who are mature should press on in the Holy Spirit’s power, knowing that Christ will reveal and fill in any discrepancy between what we are and what we should be.

We can always make excuses that we still have much to learn. The instruction for us is to live up to what already know and live out what we have already learned. We don’t have to be sidetracked by an unending search for Him.

We need to remember that new Christians will be looking to us for guidance, and understanding. If we share what we have learned so far, we can help them grow into a more mature Christian. We are living examples to others, and because of this we need to be on constant alert to what we are doing, and what we say.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all…never, ever, give up!

Do we need to go to a writer’s conference to be successful?

I have been asked this question many times. Let me share some thoughts on this:

  • At a writer’s conference are many acquisition editors, publishers, and literary agents.
  • You can schedule a meeting with any one of these people and present your case for a book you want published.
  • At some conferences you can send a proposal to certain editors, publishers, and agents ahead of time, and they will read them and make comments on them for you to read, or they may even ask to meet with you if they really like your proposal.
  • At meals, you can sit right at the table with one of these people and casually talk to them about your project. I received several writing “gigs,” doing that.
  • There is also all the knowledge and training you receive at a conference. There are many workshops, and key note speakers, that allow you to gain many insights on how to improve your writing, or ways to connect with the right people.

Writer’s conferences are a great way to help you move ahead in your writing career.

Thought just for you…

Do you feel like no one believes in you? Do you feel that what ever you do it won’t be successful?

Remember this…God made you in His own image, and he doesn’t make mistakes. He made you with a purpose in mind. When you find that purpose you can move mountains with God’s help.

With God n your side, who can be against you?

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

Above all…never, ever, give up!
