We Sometimes Wonder Where God is

I just received notice that I will be one of the authors doing signings at the Oregon State Fair this year. That should fun.

If you are in that area from August 26th- September 5th, drop by and say hello!

I told you that I was in eastern Oregon Visiting my daughter-in-law this week. It has been a wonderful experience. Spending time with her has been a blessing.

I was just outside to get some fresh air, and two quails walked right in front of me. They didn’t seem to be too afraid, as long as I didn’t make any sudden movements.

At night the skies here are incredible. There are no city lights here and the brilliance of the stars takes your breath away.

This reminds me that God created everything we see. The majesty of the snow capped mountains I’ve been seeing all this week are a good example.

Sometimes we wonder if God is there. We have times when everything seems to go wrong. The car won’t start and you are late for work. The illness you thought had gone away is back again with a vengence. That job you have had for years has disappeared.

This brings on the usual suspects we face: anxiety, depression, self-doubt, addictions, fear, etc.

I understand most of those afflictions. I have felt lost, and didn’t know what to do. Then I found that God was there and He has been there for me ever since.

People Get Caught up in the Rat Race of Life

Got a call from my cardiologist this morning. He tells me that I have a heart that doesn’t rest. This causes shortness of breath.

We could learn from this. We have days when we should rest, but we get caught up in the rat race of life. We feel we need to reach the next step in the ladder of success.

What if you reach the top of the success ladder? What do you have then? There is only one way to go from there and that is down. The stress of getting there isn’t nearly as bad as trying to stay there.

Slow down and rest. Even those “rats” in the rat race rest once and a while.

I have a whole chapter in my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” dedicated to the battle of the rat race.

We spend too much of our lives coping with anxiety, fear, self-doubt, depression, etc.

The book covers ways to win the battle with these afflictions.

Check out a description of the book, by going to the top of this page and clicking on, “Bookstore.” You will also see a picture of the cover there.

If you want to see some outstanding endorsements for the book, you can also click on, “endorsements” at the top of this page and see some from all over the United States.

I hope you will check it out and see that it is a must read for you or anyone you know who is struggling right now.

Life is, at Best, Uncertain

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Lots of sun, and in the 70’s. Today is dark, and rainy. What can I say….it is Oregon. We have the saying here, “wait five minutes,” as far as what the weather may be from minute to minute.

That happens in our lives. We never know from one minute to the next what we may be facing. Life is at best uncertain.

How do we cope with days like this?

It is called prayer. We should start out each day sharing our needs, and be praising God for His love, before we enter the daily rat race. God is there to listen, and will be with us where ever we go.

With God on our side, who can be against us?

The sales of my new book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” is still going well. I just had a signing at a local winery and did quite well.

Why is this book doing so well? It is because it shares ways to cope in that rat race above I was talking about. It helps those who are battling anxiety, fear, depression, hopelessness, addictions, self-doubt, etc. It starts out telling my own story of how I was at the end of my rope, and was considering checking out of this hotel called earth.

It then sends out messages to help the reader find ways to battle the trials and storms of life.

You can have this book for s special price right now. In the stores the book price is $19.99, but if you order from this site it is only $15.99. The shipping has been cut in half as well. A total savings of over $6.00.

When you order you will also be sent an autographed copy with a personal note.

I hope you will at least go to the top of the page and click on the “Bookstore,” tab, and read to description of the book. You might also check out some impressive endorsements, by clicking on that tab at the top.

Stay strong, and never ever give up!
