Exciting Events Coming up in Oregon

I have a very busy Christmas month coming up. Hope you can make some of them:

December 7th: Signing at Willamette Christian School 6:30-9:00 p.m.

December 8th: Signing at the Oregon State Capital 4:00-6:00 p.m.

December 10th: Signing at Eola Hills Winery 6:00-9:00 p.m.

December 11th: Signing at Wings of the Soul Christian Bookstore in Salem, Oregon

December 14th: Speaking at a Kiwanis Club breakfast in Albany, Oregon 7:00 a.m.

December 14th: Signing at Willamette Christian School. 6:30-9:00 p.m.

My schedule will be filled in even more as the days go by so stay tuned.

Let me share more information on some of these events:

  • The two Willamette Christian signings will be at a school that two of my granddaughters go to. I am signing on the nights that each of them perform in their Christmas programs. A double dip time for me.
  • The signing at the Oregon State Capital will be with several politicians, and other Oregon authors. It will be a special time to come and see the capital, and but some wonderful books as Christmas gifts.
  • The signing at Eola Hills Winery will be the highlight signing for me this year. If you need to choose one to go to, this would be the one.

I will have many special performers and guests to this Gala event:

  1. Mindy Taylor-Heresy: Local recording artist. She will sing and sign her CDs.
  2. Julie Hoy: National recording artist who will be singing some songs from her latest Christmas CD, and signing  afterwards.
  3. The Investments: A barbershop quartet from Corvallis, Oregon will be performing all night by going from table to table.
  4. Laura Morett: Special guest speaker who was a TV star from the Survivor Reality TV show of 2009. She will sign autographs afterwards.
  5. I, of course, will be there to talk on “Signs of Hope for Christmas,” and signing books afterwards.

The speaking engagement at the Kiwanis Club in Albany, Oregon will be a reunion of sorts, because I was once the president of the club back in the 80’s. There are still many members that were members back then. I will speak on, “The Signs of Hope for Christmas.”

Hope to see some of you at one of these events. If you can’t make one of them, my book, Signs of Hope:Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, can be bought on line at: Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble. It can also be bought at: www.winepressbooks.com, or own my own author website at: www.dougbolton.com. If you order from my website you will a personal note, and autograph with the book.

‘Kind words make good echoes’ is a good bumper sticker to describe Doug Bolton’s book. The simple truths he has written echo the truths we know and love from the Word of God. It is a good reminder of God’s constant love and care for us who are seasoned Christians and an encouragement to those just beginning their walk with their Savior.

This book that Doug has written is one to have on your shelf so that you can pick it up and read it time and time again. It could be used as a daily devotional. He gives us wonderful messages using his humor and personal experiences to make them real to each of us.  Doug’s use of Bible verses is so very relevant to each subject he is discusses.  I found myself writing them down to hopefully memorize later. The book ends with chapters challenging us to be witnesses of God’s salvation and then gives us tools and references to help us be fruitful. I will have this book on my shelf and I know I will give it as a gift to Christian and non-Christian friends.

Bonnie Nester, Author of “Moments this Good,” the story about a caregiver of a family member who has Alzheimer’s.

To anyone who hasn’t been able to experience a personal, intimate relationship with God, Doug Bolton’s book is a must read.  To the person who is exhausted from doing it all alone, who has lost their way, Doug’s beautiful journey to new levels of his purposeful life, will help you feel a most loving connection with a loving Father.  You will discover that you can never fail when following God’s quiet, most directive guidance.

Doug’s collection of sayings from bumper stickers and other sources provides delightful—and usually profound—insights into the spiritual truths he draws from them.

Douglas Bolton is more than just an author – he is a fresh of breath air and beacon of hope to a hurting world. He addresses issues he’s struggled within his own journey -the journey we call life. His speaks openly and honestly about his own struggles with anxiety, hopelessness and depression that brought him to the end of himself. He brings a personal perspective into his story while weaving the truth he has found in God’s word as his means of finding a purpose that is larger than himself. He has an amazing ability to connect with and motivate individuals from all walks of life and provides them with a vision that leads to life-altering breakthroughs in their own life.

Although this book conquers tough topics about why we must suffer, why loved ones leave this earth so soon, or why circumstances out of our control prevent us from helping someone in need, it is truly a book of hope. Doug’s insights, devotional-style encouragement, practical suggestions, and even his sense of humor, will guide you toward to a more intimate relationship with Christ, regardless of the complex circumstances you may be facing.

I am delighted to recommend this book to anyone who needs encouragement, but especially those who live with chronic illness or pain.

Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World is in Print

There is a new and exciting page added to the author page. You can now order the book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” right on this site. Just go to the “Bookstore,” and get one.

It won’t be available for another few days, so keep checking for the announcement that it is available.

It has been a long struggle to get to this point. I have been working on the book since 2001. It will be ten years next March.

It is worth every second. If the book can help one person then my times was not wasted.

Sorry this is such a short post. I have to post yet tonight on my blog, www.dailysignsofhope.com. I will have it ready in about an hour. Please check it out. The blog has been getting great reviews in that it has added 355 followers in just one year of existence. It also has been reaching out to those who suffer from anxiety, fear, self-doubt, depression, and the many other usual suspects.

God has blessed me a great deal since my days of having pity parties. I was pulled out of the muck and mire by our heavenly Father, and He has been holding my hand ever since.

Again, please keep checking back here for the latest on the book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.”
