Well, I missed my blogging date for yesterday. I am at the Oregon Coast relaxing. I will be here until tomorrow morning. It has been good for me to get away from the rat race for a few days.

I listened to President Biden’s question and answer session today. I actually thought he did pretty good for a “politician.”

He evaded several important questions to where they made no connection to the question.

The deadline to get troops out of Afghanistan is May 1st. When asked about it, he said, I can’t predict when we will exactly move them out. It is a big planning session to do it right.

My thoughts were that it was planned many months ago by President Trump. Why does it need a new planning session?

He was extremely vague about the immigration issue. He was asked when will the press be able to actually go see the area where thousands of children were placed? He pushed that aside and said that he wasn’t going to see them, because he felt it would be too much of a distraction to have him and all his agents, etc, to come. President Trump did it without much disturbance.

I could go on, but my point is that this president is not capable of answering questions directly. He avoids them with new thoughts from his own head.

Many interesting bits of news today. Now I am going to be talking directly to you.

I was able to get my second COVID-19 shot today. It was smooth and quick. I saw many veterans inside getting their shots. To top that, the National Guard is running it.

I am feeling OK so far. They say the second day is the real test.

Yesterday, I got my haircut in Waldport, Oregon.

It is a nice getaway for my wife and I at the Oregon Coast.

I was waiting my turn when my hair lady let me know that the guy she just finished with was the guy I called for an interview several months ago.

I was in shock. I had never met him in person. I went up to him and explained who I was, and he was excited to meet me.

He has a great story and it will be in my upcoming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.

He is a vietnam veteran, and has a very funny story as part of his interview. I will give you a clue. It deals with a monkey.

Also, while I was there, my hair lady told me there was another veteran in the place. She pointed him out and I went to him to greet him.

He is a Coast Guard veteran. We do not give them the credit they are due.

I told him when I was in, and he said he was in 61-65. I was in from 59-62, so we over lapped. He got a little excited and said he was on alert for the Bay of Pigs endeavor. I told came him I was too. We became instant buddies.

He has agreed to do an interview with me and he will be in the book as well.

My next post will talk about the fear and hardships of troops on the front lines. I will sharing about WWII veterans and Afghanistan soldiers. I hope their stories will get your interest. They all will be in the book as well.

Much news today about the military. A sad note is that one of the people killed at the National Capitol rioting was a veteran. She was in the USAF and had in 14 years.

Here are only the headlines for the rest of our military:

An Air Force F-16 just fired off a pair of swarming munitions for the first time

Two-star Air Force general demoted to colonel for affair with subordinate

Feds charge retired Air Force officer for allegedly taking part in the Capitol Hill insurrection

The Capitol Hill insurrection reveals veterans are at war against themselves

Florida men arrested for stealing remains of deceased veterans for religious rituals

I am very proud that I served my country. I am very proud of you for serving your country. It is a honor to protect our country from the enemy.

When I see ll the terrible rioting and discourse, it breaks my heart that our country is under siege. If only those rioters could spend a few weeks in countries that have dictators. They may love their country a little more.

I do not agree with the rioting that happened against our national Capitol. As a matter of fact, I am 100% against it. It was wrong and had other nations looking at us in disgust.

We have to move on. I do not care what side you were on about the results of our election. We have to move on, and regroup. Things will work out to the good eventually. We just need to be patient.

How did you do during thee rioting at our Capitol. I sat there almost in tears, to see people breaking windows, and stealing things.
