I have been working very hard on my new book, “Signs of Hope: For the Military. I feel that it will help many soldiers and their families. The appendix for this book will have one of the most complete lists available for finding help in any area a person may be searching for pertaining to the military.

As of 3-31-15 I have connected with a military expert from Alabama. His name is Leroy Hurt. He is a West Point Graduate, and will be advising me through-out the process of writing the book.I also have been connecting with many retired officers from various segments of the military. This will be very valuable to have their knowledge in putting together the book.

I am going to be completely changing the format on this site. I will now be spending much more time on updating you and sharing on the progress of the new book, “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches,” (working title) along with some excerpts from the book from time to time.

I have now talked to many officers and soldiers that are either in the military now, or have retired. I am hoping they might endorse the book when it is completed.

The appendix is growing daily. It will be one of the most complete resources for the military around, It will cover everything from babysitting help to Crises Center numbers to call if people are hurting mentally.

I have been writing every day and I am about half way finished. As I see the book unfolding, I see hope. I see practical suggestions for finding ways to cope.

I am living the book daily. I am writing about my own experiences while I was in the service. I will sharing my own self-doubts, fears, and depression to show that I am one of the military, and not an outsider who thinks he knows what to say.

I have been checking out other books about the military, and there are some very good ones, but I am having a hard time where one puts the reader first and talks directly to them. Many of them are memoirs, or sharing accounts of certain phases of one soldiers life.

Stay with me! I am on your side! Let me put this together for you and hopefully give you some strength, and perseverance.

+ Update: April 8th, 2015

I have been in contact with many military people on Facebook, and Twitter.

I am especially having great success adding many military people to my Twitter account. If you  are a military person and want to connect with me on Twitter, put in @heavenencounter and follow. I will follow back every time if I know you are connected to the military somehow. You can also connect with me on Facebook. Just put my name Doug Bolton in the Facebook search area. I also have an author Facebook page at: “Fans of Doug Bolton.” I will be glad to return the favor of liking your page.

There has been so many tragic events going on in our world lately. Isis and their murdering of innocent people. Flooding in many places, domestic violence in sports, and even murder.

I could go on and name many more horrific things that are going on, but we need to concentrate on the positive side of life instead of the dark side. There are too many trials, and storms in many people’s lives.

Are you faced with dark and dreary days? Do you seem to be taking one step forward, and two steps back? You certainly are not alone.

Depression is one of the fastest growing ailments in the world. Depression, has no age barrier. It can attack the elderly, way down to little children. It is another form of identity thief in my opinion. It robs the person of showing love, and compassion to others around them. This is sad in that it is they that needs the compassion and love, and through their depression, people tend to ignore them because they don’t want to deal with it.

People don’t like being invited to pity parties. I know, because I was one of the most depressed people on the planet at one time. I was even sitting in my Ford Explorer ready to check out of this hotel called earth. I tried to put on a good face, and smile, but on the inside I was dying.

Have you been there? Do you have very dark days with no light at the end of the tunnel?

Turn all your pain, and frustrations over to God. Let Hm carry the Load. That is what I did when I sat in my Ford Explorer. I finally shouted out to God. “I can’t Take this anymore!” At that moment I felt a wonderful peace. It was as if God was saying, “It is about time you came back to me. Now let me carry you the rest of the way.”

God cares! He loves you like His own child. He wants you to depend on Him to see you through the storms and trials of life. It is too much of a burden for most of us. If we try to face the world alone, the outcome may not be too pretty.

Stay Strong and let God show you the peace and compassion you deserve.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

As we start a new year, we wonder what is ahead of us. We wonder if the seas will be calm, and if we can achieve more this year.

We don’t need to worry about tomorrow. Jesus  tells us that tomorrow has enough worries of its own. We need to concentrate on the here and now. What can we do today to make our future brighter?

We all make our New Year’s resolutions, but in reality they are only a list. They don’t happen if we don’t take action.

Think about what you want to accomplish this year, and go for it. No stammering. No hesitation. Just plodding ahead and making those dreams come true.

So many of us think we know what we want, and then never do it. We just need to take that first step.

I have committed myself to get back to writing on my books everyday. I never did nearly enough writing last year. I stumbled around wondering if I was good enough to be an author. Well, I already am one with my first book being published and doing well.

Check out:

Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, by clicking on the “Bookstore,” tab at the top of this page.

Never feel you aren’t wise enough to accomplish your goals and dream. Go for it, and you will see that you are a much better person than you ever thought you could be!

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.
