I did some research, (It gave me a headache) that showed what the pollsters thought were the best war movies as far as being authentic. Here is THEIR list:

  1. Saving Private Ryan
  2. The Best years of Our Lives
  3. In the Army now
  4. Platoon
  5. Black Hawk Down
  6. Apocalypse Now
  7. Full Metal Jacket

They chose them for how they got it right, whereas some military films are laughable how screwed up they were.

Here is one more endorsement for the book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.

It is from a WWII veteran. George Woodruff. I met him on RallyPoint. Great guy. He was 94 and very ill when I connected so I am not sure if he is still with us.

George was on Hospice care when I first met him. He was at a special military assisted living facility in Alabama.

Here is his endorsement:

I know Doug. He is a good man. He knows the hearts of his fellow veterans. His book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and out of the trenches of Life is well written, and is vital for veterans.

He writes from the heart, and speaks of healing and soothing the souls of his brothers and sisters.

I highly recommend his book in that it especially reaches out to those who are suffering with PTSD, war wounds, depression, and many other problems.

George Woodruff

WWII veteran

President Biden is sticking to his decision to not pull out troops from Afghanistan. This is causing many angry family members of those troops. They thought their loved ones would be home by May, and now there is no definite timeline.

There is also a rumor that Biden will slash the military budget way down to help pay for his Trillion dollar fantasys. He is certainly showing that he doesn’t love the military like President Trump did.

Well, I missed my blogging date for yesterday. I am at the Oregon Coast relaxing. I will be here until tomorrow morning. It has been good for me to get away from the rat race for a few days.

I listened to President Biden’s question and answer session today. I actually thought he did pretty good for a “politician.”

He evaded several important questions to where they made no connection to the question.

The deadline to get troops out of Afghanistan is May 1st. When asked about it, he said, I can’t predict when we will exactly move them out. It is a big planning session to do it right.

My thoughts were that it was planned many months ago by President Trump. Why does it need a new planning session?

He was extremely vague about the immigration issue. He was asked when will the press be able to actually go see the area where thousands of children were placed? He pushed that aside and said that he wasn’t going to see them, because he felt it would be too much of a distraction to have him and all his agents, etc, to come. President Trump did it without much disturbance.

I could go on, but my point is that this president is not capable of answering questions directly. He avoids them with new thoughts from his own head.

Seem to have gotten rid of my pneumonia. I still am struggling with shortness of breath. Seeing a cardiologist for that.

President Biden fell while board a plane this last week. I am very concerned about his well being. Hope they are taking good care of him.

Some of his latest moves, has turned our world upside down. He pipeline cancellations have the gas prices skyrocketing. Hard to find gas for under $3.00 now.

There are more National Guardsmen in the nation’s capital than there are n Afghanistan. Doesn’t seem to make any sense to me.

The National Guard is overworked as it is, with helping with the vaccine, and other duties.

I did an interview with a SFC sniper recently. He has been out for a while now, and I asked him if he would go back in if he could. He said, “Yes, in a New York minute!”

Once a warrior always a warrior.

Here is another excerpt from my upcoming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life. In the near future I will not be sharing anymore excerpts. I will be more direct and sharing the structure of the book, and some powerful endorsements.

While on maneuvers in Virginia, I was riding in a jeep through a mountainous area. As we came around a bend a big boulder rolled near us . The driver swerved and missed the boulder, but the force threw me out of the jeep and I landed directly on the boulder back first.

The force of hitting the boulder knocked me unconscious. The next thing I remember, I was in a first aid tent. I woke up and began screaming in pain. A medic ran over to me and injected morphine into me.

That helped me a great deal. Years later I am still trying to get compensation for that accident. They are holding out, but I am stubborn.
