When you write a book that finally gets published, you are so excited that you feel you have accomplished more than you could ever dream.

That isn’t where it ends. I have had so many comments through letters, phone calls, emails, and in person about my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” since it has been published. The comments are on how the book has helped them.

This is what writing is all about. You work hard to get your manuscript in good order, and then one day your work pays off. You get published. But, then the rewards of your labor start coming in when people make positive comments about your book.

Keep plugging away at writing that book. I know it’s hard work,  but in the end you will receive many positive rewards.

How do we we deal with pain that is around 24/7? I can relate to that because I have had chronic back pain for almost a month now.

God didn’t promise a rose garden. He didn’t say we would never face trials and storms. He did let s know that He will help calm the storms.

What we need to do is pray for comfort from God through our time in the muck and mire. He is there to hold our hand and be there for us. Never assume that God is far away. If you do, guess who moved.

Stay strong through your storms and you will be a positive example to others who are going through their own trials.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Storms Will Come to Those Who Believe

It is very exciting to hear of the successes of other writers.

Does that statement seem odd to you? Should we be wanting the “competition,” to do well?

The answer is, of course we should. Each writer is on their own mission. They have their own genre that they are pursuing.

Many times their success is in a genre that is totally different from yours, and wouldn’t affect your sales.

Even if they are writing the same exact genre and are a huge success, don’t you think other people will want to read more books that are in that genre?

The bottom line is that success is needed in the publishing world. We need to have many  authors become well known. We need to have many genre’s be successful.

Why does it always have to be such a rough road for a Christians after they accept Christ into their life? Granted, not all Christians have problems, but many do, and they  wonder why God would allow it once they have come into the fold.

God never promised us a rose garden once we start living a Christian life. He sometimes allows the storms to come, like what is happening n the east coast of the United States right now. He allows them but He also helps calm the storms.

We will face persecution and hard times as Christians. I see it as the least I can do for our Lord who went through so many storms, pain and agony for me.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all… Never, ever, give up!

I did an inventory of my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.” I have sold 367 books, through the book stores in my area; online through this site; through eBooks; through signings, and on the publishers website.

The experts say that you can officially call your book a best seller, when you sell 500 books. I need to sell 133 more to do that. I will not these tired bones until that happens.

How do you deal pain? I have dealt with it for much of my life. I have had six major surgeries including quadruple by-pass heart surgery.

Pain seems to come to stay at my house like a long lost relative who doesn’t know when to leave.

I have come to the conclusion that I have been chosen to service God through  my pain. I am not saying that I loved for pain to attack me so I can act like a saint and show others how tough I am. I would really rather not have the pain.

I can tell you that I have used my pain and suffering to witness to others that are going through the same things.

I met a man at a dinner party that had just had open heart surgery. He was distraught over the thought of how long it was going to take to recovery completely. I told him how I went through the same trial, and never thought much more about our meeting. I saw him again about six months later, and he was excited to tell me how much I had helped him through his ordeal. My little time with him was far more reassuring than meeting with the doctors after his surgery. I have many other stories just like this one.

You are probably saying: “It’s easy for you to say.” No it is not. Again, I would rather not have gone through the pain I did with each of my trials and storms, but I did, and God is using me through those trials and storms, in a wonderful way.

My favorite verse in the bible has been my pillar of strength for me during my down times, ” And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NIV)

God has called me to help others who suffer by having “been there and done that,” myself.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
