This old soldier is getting very tired. Very tired of all the crap that is going on around me. I struggle with shaky hands, bad back, and getting tired very easily.

So now that I whined at you, let me cover what I am doing about my problems:

  1. I am a member of RallyPoint.com. It is a social network just for veterans. There are over 1.8 million veterans there to talk to. I get about 40 emails every day from veterans I have become friends with there. They give me virtual hugs, and give me hope through their advice. The site is http://www.rallypoint.com.
  2. I reach out to help others who are hurting. I help them smile, and they help me smile. A win. win!
  3. I get involved with military non profits to help my brothers and sisters. My favorite military nonprofit is www.victoryforveterans.org. Please check it out and see all the good they do.
  4. My son is a retired Colonel in the Army. We spend a lot of time talking about our times in the service. There is some laughing and some sadness.

I am going to share another excerpt with you today. It is gut wrenching one to say the least:

Sgt. Michael Thorin was a SGT who was in charge of a “shot gun,” company that was accompanying a caravan that was heading to a new area.

The day was going fine when all of a sudden the rig right in front of him caught on fire. There were huge flames quickly. There were four soldiers in it.

SGT. Thorin ran to the rig but it was too late. The flames had ingulfed it. Four min died in a matter of minutes.

I asked him, “How did you handle that? He said, “I haven’t yet. I have PTSD because of it.”

SGT Thorin is a Christian man, and he feels that it is the only thing that is keeping him alive, since he had a pistol pointing at his own head twice.

There is so much more to his story.

Be sure to get the book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life, to read his story and many more. Most of the stories had their dark moments, but most also come out good. The book will come out in early January.

“Another day; another dollar.”

That was a saying I remember from my childhood. Except they really meant it. A dollar went a long way back then. Now it costs way over a dollar just for a cup of coffee.

Over the years inflation has raised its ugly head. Now if you don’t make over the poverty line in the United States, you are in big trouble.

I just saw that Portland is still under siege.

Last night anarchist tore down two prominent statues. One was Teddy Roosevelt, and the other was Abraham Lincoln. Two great leaders from the past. Can’t be rioting for just for black people anymore when they destroy Abraham Lincoln’s statue.

It is just plain attempts to over throw our government to cause panic.

I think it is time to go in and clean up these messes once and for all. Bring in the National Guard, The Feds, or whom ever we need to end this nightmare.

Yes, they have President Trump losing

by double digits in the upcoming election, which is less than a month away by the way.

I am here to tell you that Trump will win in a landslide! No question about it. I have reasons why this will happen.

  1. So many voters are afraid to say they will vote for Trump, because of harm to be done if they do.
  2. Most of the polls are hand selected people that seem to be people who are anti Trump.
  3. Trump has been doing a great job. Why would anyone in the right mind vote otherwise?

These are all my opinions, but I am convinced I am right. We will know in a few weeks.

On RallyPoint…..

There is excitement in the air. President Trump is out to make our military stronger than ever. I saw many new missiles, rifles, tanks, and artillery that have been upgraded tremendously. For example: They now can have unmanned tanks guided by drones. No loss of life. These tanks are much faster; have stronger weapons, and thicker shells.

Another thing I noticed is that most of the RP members are Republicans.

If you want to join me on RallyPoint just go to: http://www.rallypoint.com, and sign up. It is free. It is an all military social network.

I have been reading about all the upgrading the military is doing in all the different branches. In my opinion, we control the skies.

Why is it happening right now.?It is because President Trump has allocated much more money for the military, and this allows them to more testing and upgrading. I cannot see how anyone could say that Trump doesn’t like the military.

_________________________________________________

I lost a dear friend recently who was a military buddy. We were very close. We connected almost everyday on RallyPoint, a Military social network. It was so sudden we all were stunned. Losing a comrade like that is very hard to handle.

_________________________________________________

Have you lost a military buddy?

I know exactly what you went, or are going through. It is like losing a brother or sister. They were closer than many family memebers when you served with them.

This is a problem for many veterans who battle PTSD because of the loss.

They replay the loss over and over again in their heads. They can’t shake it. It haunts them even when they try to sleep.

I said I lost a buudy I knew through RallyPoint, but I also lost buddies I served with while I was deployed to Korea. When I enlisted I did it under the buddy system. Two other high school buddies and I enlsited the same day hoping we would be stationed together. It worked out fine. We were in basic training together, and we all got deployed to Korea.

This is when the story gets very sad. One of my buddies didn’t make it home. He died in Korea. It was a strange unknown death in many ways. All They could tell us is that he caught a virus of some kind. I think of him often.

While in Korea I made some close friends. Many of my company did things together. We were a “team.” When one suffered we all suffered. When one was glad we were all glad.

One of those very close buddies of mine got too very drunk one night and when he staggered back the the camp from the villiage, he fell into a “Honey Bucket.” This is a hole in the ground that the people filled with human waste to fertilize their rice.

He fell into one and sufficated. I was numb for a couple of weeks. So was the rest of the team. No one were talking to each other. Just do your job, and head to your qounset hut. (Barricks)

So I have been there with you. I lost three buddies. I am blessed that I didn’t aquire PTSD, but I was severly depressed when i got nack to the states. So much so, I was ready to end my life in 2001. I didn’t, and I am here crying in my beer.
