Thoughts just for you….

As Christians, we are to Try to be more Christ Like. (Romans 8:29.)

This doesn’t mean that the day you accept Christ into your heart, that you are to be a perfect Christian. This is a gradual, lifelong, process that will only be completed when we see Christ face to face. (I John 3:2.)

To be “worthy,” of this calling means you want to do what is right and good, just as Christ would.

Some ways to grow more like Christ are:

  • Read the Bible every day, and understand what it means by searching the concordances, etc.
  • Speak to God each day in prayer and feel the closeness He provides, just like He did for Jesus.
  • Fellowship with other Christians, through your church, or in Bible study groups.

It is hard, at best, to survive in this unfriendly world, but when we try to follow the right path God has for us, it is much easier.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all…never ever, give up!!

Don’t Like The Kind of Parent You’ve Been? God Allows U-turns.

Thoughts just for you….

Father’s Day was last month. Mother’s Day is in May. As fathers and mothers what is our responsibility?

When we first got married we didn’t think of what it might be like to have children. We enjoyed our marriage and went on with life. Then a wonderful thing happened. A little one came into our lives.

What a change! This little bundle of joy had more impact our our lives than anything else would ever do. We had to adjust our daily routine to fit the needs of our child. We had to earn enough to provide for them. We had to make sure we planned for their future.

What sort of plans did you have for you children? Was it tough love time and they had to learn on their own, and you went about your own business? I think  not.

My point is, we as parents have a tremendous impact on our children either positive or negative.

Proverbs tells us that how the tree is grown will be the final outcome. That is certainly a vague interpretation, but it means that how we teach our children will be how they will be many years from now. What we say and do will have an affect on them.

I am so blessed with the children I have. I made sure they went to church with me every Sunday, and tried to be a good example for them.

I can now say that all three of my adult children are Christians, and they all married Christians spouses. They all have Christian children. Not because I am something special, and need to boast. It is because of consistent love and guidance through the  years, that has brought each of them to their own level of trying to be good parents as well.

Think about what kind of example you are for your children? If you aren’t comfortable with the way things are going, change it. God allows U-turns in your life. It is never too late!

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And Above all…never, ever, give up!

Do You feel the World is Against you? Think About Jesus.

Thoughts just for you…

Do you fee like the world has turned against you? Does there seem to be a cloud always hanging over your head. have you been over burdened with illnesses, etc?

You aren’t alone. I have been there considering I have had six major surgeries.

When I start having a pity party that no one likes to come to, I start thinking about some of the people in the Bible and what they had to go through.

What about Paul? He was shipwrecked more than once. He was beaten many times. He was even left for dead after people stoned him. He was in prison much of his life.

What about David? He was so afraid for his life, he had to spend some time hidden in a cave.

What about Joseph? His brothers hated him so much they sold him into slavery.

Then, of course, what about Jesus? He was beaten with a whip that had nails on the ends of it. He was spit upon and cursed at. He had to wear a wreath of thorns on His head. He had to carry His own death cross to the hill. He had to see His family mourning below Him from the cross. He had spikes driven into His feet and hands.

When I think of the torturous things so many of the great people in the Bible had to go through, especially our Lord and Savior, my little aches and pains seem so meaningless. My trials and storms are calm compared to others who suffered for me.

Try to put your trials and storms into perspective, and be thankful that you are still able to read this, and live a good life.

God is always there for you, no matter what your circumstances are.

Remember:

Yuu are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved,

And above all…never, ever, give up!
