I have been struggling lately. I have been diagnosed with severe multilevel degenerative disc disease, and facet arthrosis throughout the lumbar spine. The pain is very hard to handle. I am taking some meds to help, but the pain is still there.

I have been referred to an orthopedic doctor. Waiting to get his call to schedule.

I went to acupuncture, but the doctor there decided that my problem was too big for him to handle.

I know that my back problems are from a jeep accident I had in the military. I was thrown from the jeep back first onto a big boulder. The impact was so hard I lost consciousness. I woke up in a medic tent screaming in pain. They rushed to get me some morphine. That helped.

I have had three back surgeries through the years and still deal with a lot of pain.

Why do I whine? It is because I encourage all my brothers and sisters in the military to reach out for help. So many veterans end their lives because they are tired of the pain.

Seek help if you need it!!

Military news

“I made a quick decision” is the understatement of the year, but it’s how Army Sgt. 1st Class Jedadia Powell made his move to rush inside a burning house to save two women and a dog back in 2017. He made sure nobody else was in the house, and then he went right back to work after first responders arrived on the scene. Now, more than three years after the event, the Oregon National Guardsman received the Soldier’s Medal for his efforts.

When I got back to the states from Korea, I was sent to Ft. Bragg. I did pretty much the same work as I did in Korea.

One time our unit was sent on Bivwak to Virginia. We had all our equipment set up, and settled in.

Me and two other buddies went on a walk to see the area. We came across an elderly lady who greeted us. Actually she was being persistent in having us come in and have coffee with her. We soon realized she wanted to have sex with us and we moved on.

Further on the walk we saw three guys sitting together on a hillside. They invited us up. We quickly realized that they were moonshiners. They had the equipment to make booze near them. We sat down and heard some great stories about the moonshine business.

They offered to have us try their mix. We politely agreed. My first sip almost blew my head off! I very slowly finished my drink that was in a mason jar.

One of my buddies really liked it and asked for more. The guys were thrilled he liked it and gave him another drink. My buddy had two more after that.

Then he screamed, “I am blind!!” The three men laughed and said “You drank too fast. You will be fine in a few hours.”

We guided our buddy back to our camp and got him laid down.

On that same trip I was riding with a buddy up in the mountains in the area. He was driving.

There were no safety belts back then.

As we came around a curve we saw a boulder right in our way. The driver swerved to miss the boulder, but the force threw me out of the jeep right on top of the boulder, back first.

I hit the boulder with a tremendous force since we were going about thirty miles an hour. I blacked out as soon as I hit the boulder. The forced also caused me to have a whiplash.

I woke up in a medical tent.

I started screaming in pain. My lower back was one solid brush, and my neck was really painful.

The medic rushed over and gave me some morphine. That really helped.

I have had to have three neck and back surgeries since that day.

These two stories are in my upcoming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the trenches of Life.

Be sure to keep checking back in to see further excerpts and updates as to how the book is coming along.

I am hearing reports that people are purposely starting the wild fires on the west coast. They have already aressted two men in different parts of Oregon for arson. If one person dies from their stupidity, they should get life in prison.

The wild fires are causing many deaths and burning millions of acres. Complete towns have been wiped out in Oregon. Four towns are gone. One was a big vacation area that was burnt to the ground. Hundreds pf home destroyed. I have one neighbor on my street that has two of her children staying with her, becasue their homes are gone.

Still hearing Fake News claiming that President Trump thinks the military is a bunch of losers, when that has already been proven false. They will do whatever they can to try to make him look bad.

I so admire him for standing strong through all of this Fake News debocle. he is the best presedint for us right now. he is facing the Pandemic, rioting and looting, wild fires in the west, and the democrats creating tons of lies about him. He stands there and takes it like a man. He is in a storm and yet he faces it head on.

The was another death at a military base, and this was not at Ft hood. It was the fourth one this year at Ft Jackson. There has also been many deaths at Ft. Hood. Got to find out what is going on. These are our brothers and sisters that are dying.

I have been battling the VA trying to get compensation. I have two ligit problems I have received while in the military. One is thaat I had to wear ear phones twelve hours a day since I was in the Army Security Agency, and we had to monitor airways for breaches of security. They was often a lot of static going into my ears.

Later on, just before I was suposed to get out of the service, I was in a Jeep accident. I was thrown out of the jeep and landed on a bolder back first. I was knocked unconscious from the whip lash i receive, and woke up later in a military tent on bivwac. I woke up screaming from the pain in my whole back. I was quickly given some morphine and I was better. They never did exrays of my back when I left the military. I have had three back and neck surgeries since.
