Doug Bolton, the founder of the blog, Signs of Hope, which is at www.dailysignsofhope.com, has written a new book, “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.” It will be reaching out the many military and veterans who may be battling anxiety, fear, depression, addictions, rejections, and the many other usual suspects. There are 22 military connected suicides every day. That is almost one every hour. Doug wants to help stop those statistics.

I just have been selected to be a board on a new nonprofit. It is called: http://www.victoryforveterans.org.

I am honored to be on their board. There are Colonels and Generals on the board with me. Not bad for a Specialist Fourth Class, don’t you think?

Why did I accept being on the board? I checked it out thoroughly and I am very impressed. This site will be reaching out to veterans who may be battling PTSD, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and the many other usual suspects.

It is a new nonprofit. Actually we are still waiting to be approved as a nonprofit. That takes time.

I really hope you will check the site out. I just happen to also be their full time blogger, so when you go there click on the Blog icon and join me there. There is a sign-up area just like this site has. Subscribe and you will get every post I post sent right to your inbox.

I assume many of you, if you are a veteran or a family member of a veteran, have seen some of the horrors that a military has faced. The most prevalent one is PTSD. There are several thousand veterans who are battling that.

A Victory for Veterans, we have “partners,” who share our dream and support us and we support them. This process is great because we can send a military person suffering with PTSD to experts in that field and get them the help they need.

If you are struggling, try to be strong. If you need help Get it! This is a help line for all military. Please use it if you are in need.

There is always help for you 24/7 at: 1-800-273-8255

Never take on this world alone. I personally rely on God to give me strength. I have faced most of the problems that a soldier has faced, and I wouldn’t have made it this far if I didn’t lean on God.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…..never, ever, give up!

If you are a veteran, thank you for your service and sacrifice. Also, please click on the link above and at least check out RallyPoint. It is a new social network for veterans only. There are over 450,000 members ther. All have stories about their time in the military. I have made some wonderful friends through this network.

As a veteran myself, I often get discouraged about the lack of support some people give the Military. It seems it is one of the first places that Congress does cutting from. Officers are sent packing to lower the amount of military on pay.  The equipment s getting obsolete, and moral is at a all time low.

To prove that last sentence, 22 veterans end their lives every day!! That is totally unacceptable. Many are veterans who are trying to get help with their help through the VA. The VA is a disaster.

If you are a veteran and are struggling, please seek help. There are many resources you can use, by searching Google.

Don’t let the dark side overcome you. Face the winds of fear, and win the battle. Be strong for yourself, and those around you. Your example could change a life.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

It has been a while since I last posted. I have been on  a hard path to walk the last couple of weeks due to severe allergies.

One of my all time favorite heroes died this week. He was a heroes hero. John Glenn was the shining star that showed example after example what it is suppose to be like if you want to lead people.

He went from an ace pilot in the Korean war and Vietnam, to the top astronaut for NASA. He could have retired several times, but he had a quest to serve his country as long as he could.

(Oh, by the way he also became a 24 year Senator in congress.)

He fought in two wars. Received many awards and medals.

He was the first American to orbit the earth.

He was 95 years old, and has left a legacy that will endure for ever.

As military men and women, we should try to be as good example as he was for his whole life.

We don’t have to orbit the earth, or be elected to congress. We can be good examples in our own communities, and our homes. Just by showing those around us how to be kind, passionate, caring, and a pillar for those people in our lives, could change the world.

Thank you John Glenn for setting the high example that we all should strive to be like.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.
