I have been invited by an agent to do a proposal for a series of books on hope. That is big news in itself, but it isn’t a done deal. I have to write a proposal that will knock her socks off, and want her to become your agent. I am in the process of putting that together, and it isn’t an easy job. I think there may be a few thousand re-writes to get it the way I think is presentable. Wish me luck, and I will update you on the progress, and the outcome.

As we approach the holidays-it is only 41 days until Christmas-we have thoughts of hope and love.

There are those who feel the opposite during this time. Some feel deep depression, and hopelessness.

How could this happen?

I have one example of a friend who just lost his wife recently, and will face the holidays without his wife for the first time. There are those who have lost their jobs, and can’t see a very bright Christmas coming for their children as far as getting them gifts.

I could go on with other examples, but you get the picture. What can we do to help?

My friend has had many families from the church invite him to come to their homes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He is prayed for by many prayer warriors.

For those who don’t have a rosy Christmas coming because of a loss of their jobs, you can send gifts to their home without letting them know who did it, and brighten up their look on life.

Think about these things as we approach the holidays. Think, “What would Jesus do to help these people? Think, what can you do to help these people? Then just do it.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all..never,ever, give up!

Writing is not a sport. It is hard work and can get to the point of writer’s block. How do you avoid writer’s block?

Here are some things I do when that pesky writer’s block attacks:

  • Get away from the computer, or what ever device you use to write.
  • Go on a walk. Don’t think about your writing for one second on the walk. Look around and enjoy what you see.
  • Start another writing project that has no connection to what you are now working on. A fresh start often gets the brain working again.
  • Have lunch with a friend, and again, don’t talk about writing. Just enjoy the meal, and catching up on how your friend is.

Writing block doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, take measures to avoid it as much as you can by coming up with alternative things to do.

It is hard, at best, to accept life when someone you love is ill, and may not make it. I am going through that right now. My mother is almost 96 and she is failing her health this last week. It is very hard to visit her and see her slowly fade. I sometimes wonder to myself why God would let her linger so long through this pain and hard trial.

Then I think of what she has meant to me. I think that even though I have to hand feed her, she did the same thing for me when I was little. I also think of that when I have to change her clothes because she has had a accident.

Our parents went through some hard times to get us where we are today. The least we can do is provide them with as much comfort as possible in their final hours on this earth.

Take this day to go and thank your parents for all they have done for you. There may come a time where it will be too late.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

It helps me to know that my work is not only appreciated, but people will be reading my thoughts as I post there. There are 204 people so far. You name added would be an honor to me.

The election is over in the United States, and we have another four years of the same  president. What does that mean to you? Are you happy or disappointed?

I personally had the worst time deciding who to vote for in my many years of being able to vote. It was difficult at best. The person I voted for didn’t win, but this is what I suggest to both sides:

  • It matters who wins, but it matters more that we pray for whoever wins. I will be praying that our president tries very hard to work with both parties, and come up with some solutions. The last four years have been fighting and bickering amongst themselves, and haven’t accomplished much of anything.
  • I  will pray for open minds, and understanding listeners. People who want what is best for their country and not what is best for their party.
  • I will pray for a president who seeks union amongst all people, and leads the fight to what is best for those forgotten in the trials and storms of life.

Think about what you feel you need to pray about and “just do it.”

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.
