I am so fed up with the war in Ukraine. I talked to a guy that is also fed up. He was very extreme.

” What we should do is have all the allies drop nuclear bombs on Russia at once. Total surprise, and they wouldn’t be able to defend it. Russia would not be a real nation after that. Just fragmentation.”

I didn’t even know how to respond! That would be awful. Millions of people dying, because of one man’s dictatorship. What about the fallout??

Three days ago I came down with COVID, my second time. Wednesday was a nightmare. I was so weak I could hardly go to the bathroom. When I did try I dribbled in my PJ’s all the way. I had no control. Very hopeless feeling.

Today I am much better! Got the right medicine. Feel 90% OK. My wife came down with it too.

Just finished an interview with the daughter of a WWII nurse. Some gripping thoughts there. The nurse, Velma Sundet was a hero to many soldiers during the war. She saved many lives.

I only have one other interview left. That is with a Gold Star father. I will be talking to him this week.

It is very surprising to see how many veterans live near you. I found out that there are four veterans right on my street. I have connected, and we do things together.

Try doing the same. Ask every neighbor near you if the are a veteran. I think you might be surprised. If you have some get to know them and have “talk,” time.

There was a frightening video on the news the other day. It showed a Russian soldier running along a trench and is killed by a drone. The only soldier left beg to be captured to save his life. They let him be captured.

The drones will control future wars. I have no doubt in my mind that it will happen. This is good in some way. No lives are lost as a drone is doing its thing.

There could be a drone war. Drones attacking each other.

I was amazed how much I “Grew up,’ while in the military. I signed up when I was 18 years old. Never have had alcohol to drink, and had never left my home town. Boy, was I in for a surprise!

I had basic training with little problems. I went MOS training and little happened.

Then I was deployed to South Korea. My world changed completely after that.

On the way over there in a ship, we stopped at Naha, Okinawa. LORDY! I looked down the main street, and every building had a red light outside of it. There was a prostitute outside each building trying to get you to come in and have sex with them. It was sin city. I sat down with some buddies, and they tried to get me to test the waters. I was too shy and scared to do that.

Everyone my table got up and went with a prostitute. I decided that this was a losing trip for me.

______________________________________________________________

Then when I got to South Korea, all Hell broke loose. As I was putting things away in my bunk area two guys came walking in and were very friendly, They invited me to go with them to The Camp bar.

That night I went with them to see what was going on, and to gain new friends.

It was ten cent night. Meaning everything there was only ten cents. My new friends convinced me to try a drink they like. I hesitated and then realized that making new friends was important. They got the drinks and sat down. They handed me the drink and it looked dark gray, and a big glass.

They talked me into trying a sip. I did and my throat exploded, and I felt the drink going down to my stomach. They laughed, and said “Welcome to Korea. ” They later told me that the drink was a Zombie. I stayed with them the rest of the night. I got extremely drunk. I then had a blackout. I woke up several hours later lying next the wheel of a 1/2 ton truck.
