I Wanted to Leave This Hotel Called Earth

Thank you to all of you who have been subscribing to this site. It has grown from 800 subscribers to over 2,200 in just a few months. Our goal was to reach 2,000 by the end of the year. You blew that goal out of the water. We have to adjust our sights to a higher goal. Let’s see if we can reach 2,400 by December 31st. That would be awesome.

You can help us reach that goal by subscribing today if you haven’t already. Just click on the icon right after the title to this post to do that.

I have been working very hard on my new book, “Signs of Hope: For the Military. I feel that it will help many soldiers and their families. The appendix for this book will have one of the most complete lists available for finding help in any area a person may be searching for pertaining to the military.

Two steps forward and one step back make the walk of life very slow. So many people  are one the same path. They trudge along, not knowing or caring where they are headed.

Are you on that path? Are you unhappy with your current status? Maybe you feel that you are stuck, and have no where to go at your job. You may feel too old to start over and try again.

I am 75 years old. (I know, you are surprised I can still type and sit up to do this post.) I have a book published called, Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, , that I didn’t start writing until I was 69 years old. It has received a national award from the Reader’s Favorite Awards.

I was a teacher until my retirement in 1995. I felt just like many of you may be feeling right now. What now! I thought I was going to have to sit in my rocking chair and fade away into the sunset.

God had another plan. He pulled me out of the muck and mire on March 31st, 2001 when I was sitting in my Ford Explorer thinking of checking out of this hotel called earth. I cried out to Him for help and He took my hand and has been leading down the right path ever since.

I have to admit, I never grasped the thought that I would be am author some day. The only writing I had done was in journals. Well, much of my first book was taken from those very journals. I didn’t realize I was preparing to publish a book just from my hurts, and pains I had written down.

Don’t let this world overcome you and make you feel you are worthless. There are so many thing you can do to make you feel good and help others at the same time.

It is never too late to start something new no matter what you age is. Behind that next door could be what God had in mind for all along like He did for me.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

The suicide of Robin Williams wakes us up again to the dangers of depression. My new book coming out soon, Signs of Hope for the Military, concentrates on helping the soldiers with their depression. We need more books and resources to reach out to those who suffer anxiety, fear, depression, self-doubt, and the many other usual suspects.

There are far too many young people, on this hotel called earth, that go that drastic next step to end their pain.

I know a great deal about this because I have been there. I was breathing my last breaths in 2001. I was sitting in my Ford explorer, and contemplating suicide.

I finally cried out to God, “I can’t take this anymore!”  At that moment I felt such a relief, and it seemed God was saying to me, “It is about time you came back to me. Now let me carry you the rest of the way.”

God saved my life that day, and He then lead me to write my first book, Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World. The book was awarded over twenty 5 star reviews, and won a national award from the Reader’s Favorite Awards.

If you or someone you know is dealing with depression, please check out the bookstore at the top of this page, and see information about the book, Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World. I am not seeking a lot of money from this. I just want to help as many people as I can. Please tell others about the book if you like it.

How you doing? Do you seem to have more dark days than sunshine in your life? Are you floundering in the muck and mire? You aren’t alone, over 19 million people in the United States alone suffer from from depression type symptoms.

Satan loves to torment people and give them pain and suffering. Fight back. Hit Satan in the face, and tell him he is grass and you are a lawn mower. Don’t let him put you up on his trophy wall.

Get help and read as many books as you can that share how to cope in this not so friendly world, like, Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, does.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I have found that we won’t achieve much if we listen to negative people. I almost stopped writing a couple of times because of people telling me that I was going no where and that I was wasting my time. I didn’t listen and my first book not only got published, it received a national award from the Reader’s Favorite Awards, and was runner up in a contest that was like American Idol but it was for writers.

That got me on the right track to ignore the negatives and listen to the positives. There is a chapter in my first book called, “Worry is the Dark Room Where negatives are developed.” I spend a lot of time in that chapter telling people they have self worth and should never let others dictate their lives. It is one of my favorite chapters.

You can take a look at this book by clicking on the bookstore tab above. You will see that we are having trouble with our ordering process, but you can got to http://www.dailysignsofhope.com and order from the bookstore there. That is my blog.

You can do so much when you believe in yourself. Don’t ever think you are alone, and forgotten. God knows about you. You are written in His book. He created you in His own image, so if He would goes that far you can bet your bottom dollar He will be there to protect you, and guide you on to mighty things.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
