Veterans need to be honest about their loneliness and boredom after serving

What if a big part of the problem wasn’t so much PTSD or poor transition assistance — at least not directly — but rather loneliness and boredom?
Biden says US will stop supporting ‘offensive operations’ in Yemen
President Joe Biden announced on Thursday that the U.S. would stop supporting “offensive operations” in war-torn Yemen.

President Biden continues his program of turning his back on the military.

Doesn’t make ant sense.

He should embrace the military for their sacrifice and commitment.

I am laying low today because of a reaction to my second COVID-19 shot.

Shortness of breath is making me pretty weak.

I hope it clears up soon. I will be calling my cardiologist if it continues.

One of the many things that bothers me is the mass amount of PTSD victims there are in the military. I

have had several interviews for my upcoming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In an Out of the Trenches of Life, with veterans, and many are struggling with PTSD.

I try to give them support, but the ongoing answer is that they can take care if it themselves. This is not true. They all should be getting help to show them the way through their storms.

There is no shame in getting help. You don’t have to be a macho man.

On that subject:

How are you doing. Is the path you are one right now too tough. Does it have many dark places?

Fear not! There are over 11.400 fellow veterans here who have you back.

If this isn’t enough, GET HELP!! Don’t try to be a tough guy. There are 22 suicides every day from veterans who gave up. I do not want you to be one of them.

Here is a toll free number to call 24/7. There are highly qualified counselors there to help you. They will not hang up until they know you are OK.

Got some not so good news yesterday at my cardiologist. He informed me that the bottom part of my heart is not getting signals from the top part. That means the “Central Transfer” spot in my heart is not working anymore.

He has suggested a”Flutter Ablasion.” He thinks if he can stop the severe A-Fib I have that the sections will start working again.  I do the ablasion on May 1st.

I am not mew to these types of afflictions. I have had six major surgeries, and have joked that I was to be careful when I drink water because of the 18+ incisions I have on my body.

How can I have a positive feeling about all of this?

There was a time when I didn’t have positive feelings. I was down and out, and even considering checking out of this hotel called earth. It was at that point, which was at the end of my rope, I realized that the rope I was clinging to was really the hem of God’s robe. He stopped me from going all the way, and turned me around to write my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.”

So, when the darkness comes, I know there is a light above me at all times. I know that God is there protecting me. He has taken my hand and has been guiding me for many years now.

Do you have a fear about something? Do you wonder if God is there?

Be assured that if you feel God is far away that you can know it was you that moved. He will never forsake you.

I will update you on my ablasion procedure after it is done on May 1st. Prayer would be fantastic. God does listen.

People Get Caught up in the Rat Race of Life

Got a call from my cardiologist this morning. He tells me that I have a heart that doesn’t rest. This causes shortness of breath.

We could learn from this. We have days when we should rest, but we get caught up in the rat race of life. We feel we need to reach the next step in the ladder of success.

What if you reach the top of the success ladder? What do you have then? There is only one way to go from there and that is down. The stress of getting there isn’t nearly as bad as trying to stay there.

Slow down and rest. Even those “rats” in the rat race rest once and a while.

I have a whole chapter in my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” dedicated to the battle of the rat race.

We spend too much of our lives coping with anxiety, fear, self-doubt, depression, etc.

The book covers ways to win the battle with these afflictions.

Check out a description of the book, by going to the top of this page and clicking on, “Bookstore.” You will also see a picture of the cover there.

If you want to see some outstanding endorsements for the book, you can also click on, “endorsements” at the top of this page and see some from all over the United States.

There is a special sale going on right now. The book normally sells for $19.99 in the stores, but it is on sale here  for only $15.99 and the shipping has been cut in half as well. A total savings of over $6.00.

I hope you will check it out and see that it is a must read for you or anyone you know who is struggling right now.
