Thoughts just for you….

As Christians, we are to Try to be more Christ Like. (Romans 8:29.)

This doesn’t mean that the day you accept Christ into your heart, that you are to be a perfect Christian. This is a gradual, lifelong, process that will only be completed when we see Christ face to face. (I John 3:2.)

To be “worthy,” of this calling means you want to do what is right and good, just as Christ would.

Some ways to grow more like Christ are:

  • Read the Bible every day, and understand what it means by searching the concordances, etc.
  • Speak to God each day in prayer and feel the closeness He provides, just like He did for Jesus.
  • Fellowship with other Christians, through your church, or in Bible study groups.

It is hard, at best, to survive in this unfriendly world, but when we try to follow the right path God has for us, it is much easier.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all…never ever, give up!!

How do We Properly Pray to God?

How do we pray properly to God? Some people come to God with their heads hung low, afraid to ask Him to meet their needs. Others pray flippantly, never giving any thought of what they are actually saying.

We need to come with reverence, because God is our King! But, we need to also come with bold assurance because God is our friend and Counselor.

We also can bee bold when we know that Jesus is with us during our prayers. He intercedes for us. He pleads for us to God.

Jesus chose to obey His heavenly Father, and through that, we have a faithful Son that god loves, and will listen to.

Our prayers are important enough to sue evey day. It says ib the Bible to prayer without ceasing. That means we need to be talking to God all the time. When ever we feel a need, we should stop immediately and call on god for help.

Prayer is very powerful. Don’t take it lightly. Use it often, and know that God is listening.

God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we want them answered. He will answer them the way He thinks is best for us.

 Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

Above all…never, ever, give up!

Should I Favor the Rich and Forget the Poor?

There are many way to walk the path of this life. We can seek riches, and strive to find ways to make money, not matter the obstacles are, or we can share our wealth with the less fortunate.

James from the Bible teaches to not show favoritism to the wealthy:

  • It’s inconsistent with Christ’s teachings.
  • It results from evil thoughts.
  • It insults people made in God’s image.
  • It’s a by-product of selfish motives.
  • It shows a lack of mercy to those less fortunate.
  • It’s hypocritical.
  • It’s a sin.

We often treat well dressed, impressive-looking people better then someone who looks shabby. We do this because we could rather identify with successful people than with apparent failures.

Why is it wrong to judge a person by his or her economic status?

Wealth may indicate intelligence, wise decisions, and  hard work. On the other hand, it may mean only that a person had the good fortune of being born into a wealthy family. It could even be the sign of greed, dishonesty, and selfishness.

Why do some people go this route of ignoring the poor?

  1. Poverty makes us feel uncomfortable. We don’t want to face our responsibilities to those who have less than we do.
  2. We want to be wealthy too, and we hope to sue the rich person as a means to that end.
  3. We want the rich person to join our church  and help support it financially.

All of these motives are selfish.

God doesn’t promise us  earthly rewards or riches; in fact Christ call us to be ready to suffer for Him and give up everything in order to hold on to eternal life. besides, we will have untold riches in eternity if we are faithful in our present life.

God loves the poor. That doesn’t  mean the the rich will automatically go to hell and the poor to heaven. Poor people are more aware  of their powerlessness. This helps them to be more aware of their need to seek salvation as the means to find their wealth in heaven.

We need to love one another, no matter what the wealth level is for each person.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all… never,  ever,  give up!
