I have a podcast here that I did with John Kremer, the marketing guru. He invited me to share unusual places to sell books. Take a listen and hit those streets running: goo.gl/WGTF7.

I will be doing a short post tonight. I am ill with some kind of crud.

I got the crude from a plane ride full of sick people. Talk about a trapped environment.

I was coming home from San Antonio, Texas, after my team, The Oregon State University Beavers football team lost to Texas, in a heart breaker. We were ahead the whole game except for the last two minutes. We lost 31-27.

It was a great trip except for that loss. Lots of great restaurants, and many fun times with friends.

How do you handle a loss? In our lives we face many losses and victories. The victories are nice, but those losses seem to come around when you least want them to.

I was devastated for a while. Especially after the game when we had to hear the taunts from the Texas fans.

The hurt was hard to handle, but I regrouped and went on.

That is what we need to do with life in general. “Things,” will happen to us. We will feel devastated. That is the point we will have to get ourselves up off the ground and keep going.

By the way… God is always there for you. He won’t stop the trials and storms, but He will be there to calm them.

Remember:

 You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

You are Not Alone

There seems to be a debate about eBooks, versus hard copy. The eBooks seems to be leveling off.

To me, I like the best of both worlds. I see eBooks as another way to sell my books, and the cost is very low. I have sold many books both ways. Embrace any avenue you can find to sell your books.

Do you have dark clouds coming into your life every day? Do you ask, “Why me, and why now?” This is hard, at best, for many of us to handle.

During this holiday season we should be joyous and spreading good cheer, but the overwhelming events in our world, seems to speak against that.

Let me share some thoughts:

  • In just four more days we will be celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him all tears will be wiped away, and those joyous days will be every day.
  • Through pain and sorrow we learn things and actually grow. I have been there, and as I look back I see that each and every trial I had to go through eventually made me a better person.
  • Everything that happens has a purpose and all things work for the good of those who believe.
  • be thankful for what you have. God gave all of it to you, and he will care for you in the future as well.

Yes, times are hard. Yes, things could be better, but never think that God isn’t listening. He is always there. He is just a prayer away.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

God is in Charge, and He Has a Plan.

I have been asked if once you are with a self-publishing company can you switch to someone else if you aren’t happy, or found a company that does better quality work.

The answer is yes. Contact your current publisher and ask for a print ready copy of your manuscript, cover, and back page. Most will send you that for a small fee.

Then you are free to contact any other self-publishing company and switch to them.

It has been hard to think of anything to write about except the recent tragedies in the United States. Senseless shootings that took many wonderful people.

This is suppose to be the holiday season that is full of joy, and hope.

Please understand that God is in charge, and He has a plan. It doesn’t look like He cares, but think on this.

  • The Ten Commandments can not be shown in any government buildings.
  • Prayer is not allowed in schools.
  • School programs can’t be called, Christmas programs anymore. They can only be called holiday programs.
  • The school can’t promote any books or songs that support Christian values.

God is not welcome in the schools. So He didn’t cause the chaos. A crazed shooter did.  God is probably in tears over the loss of the little children. You can be assured that they are all be loved right now in Heaven.

I will not dwell on this last tragedy just so I can write something sensational. This will be the last reference to it, but please pray for all the people affected by this horrific act. Each person that was killed had a circle of loved ones who are grieving right now.

God be with you also. I know of so many friend here where I live who are taking the event very seriously, and are grieving as well.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
