Military news…

No, Air Force F-22 fighter pilots are not quitting en masse in protest of the Pentagon’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, as one viral video on Twitter falsely claims, And even if they were, it would not spell doom for Taiwan.

One of the many victims of the 9/11 terror attacks was the post-Cold War myth of American invincibility. Over the course of the past two decades, that myth was further worn away by cheap, hidden IEDs; a forever war and the mental and physical scars it left behind.

My goal was to give the military community something to cheer for.” That’s from Sgt. 1st Class Elizabeth Marks, an Army combat medic who broke a world record while winning the gold medal in the women’s 100m backstroke at the 2020 Paralympic Games last week in Tokyo, Japan. The gold is just the latest in her five-medal collection.

Military news…

Military leaders keep saying they have a “no tolerance” or a “zero tolerance” policy for sexual assault and harassment, but an independent commission has found that the opposite is true. In fact, daily harassment is ubiquitous in many units and is something military women are told they should expect.

An Army lieutenant colonel is under investigation after reportedly spinning an insane web of lies over several years in order to carry out affairs with several women. Lt. Col. Richard Kane Mansir, a civil affairs officer based at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, allegedly lied about deployments and even came up with false deployment papers to cover up his infidelity.

The Air Force is standing behind a security forces airman who smashed the car window of a woman who was trying to enter Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho late last month. The Air Force said Tech Sgt. Ryan Green was well within standard procedure when he used his baton to smash the window, as can be seen in a video of the event that went viral on social media last week.

The Marine Corps — the Oliver Twist of the U.S. military — is getting something new. Well, sort of. The lucky infantry Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina are getting their hands on the M3A1 Multi-Role Anti-Armor Anti-Personnel Weapons System, a recoilless rifle that has better range and optics than the Marines’ old boom tube.

U.S. troops in Iraq have been attacked every day this week, and it’s still not clear who is responsible for them. Two U.S. service members were injured after 14 rockets were fired at Al-Asad Air Base on Wednesday, and who knows how many more might follow if the attacks continue.

Another excerpt from my upcoming book, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the trenches of Life.

One of the things I heard about when I enlisted into the Army was their food. It seemed to be a joke how bad it was. I was told they have C-rations and a breakfast item called, SOS.

While after I was in for a while, I learned that the food in the military wasn’t all the bad. The SOS was really just biscuits with a lot of gravy on top. It was quite good to me, and I still have it restaurants a lot. The C-rations you never eat unless you are on maneuvers or on “the hill.” like I was in Korea.

So this leads me to think that we shouldn’t go by what other people tell us. We have to find out for outselves.

I have seen this so many times. I believe we all need to calculate carefully what we do and say. We could be telling someone something that doesn’t fit their needs even though we are sure that it is the best for them.
