I am finding more time to write on this site lately. It could be because God is telling me I need to spend ore time with you here.

This Site will have two functions:

  • Share with you what the latest news is on my writing, and new books that are coming out.
  • Write words of hope at the end of each of my post that you can cling to help you through those cloudy and stormy days.

I haven’t had much time to write the last two weeks because of the holidays. I did spend time reflecting over the year 2013.

It wasn’t a year that some would want to remember. I had a couple surgeries; an ablation on my heart, and a cardio version on my heart, and nothing seems to be helping right now. I see my cardiologist this Friday and we will come up with a new route to take.

I know…other than that how is your day?

My day is wonderful. I have such a supportive group of family and friends to help me through this storm.

I have slightly altered my plans for writing this year. I am still planning to finish my new book “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” I am writing this book with my good friend Dennis Booth in New South Wales, Australia. We are working hard on it , and it will come out some time this year.

Where I am changing my path will be for the next book after this one. I was going to write a book for seniors called, “Signs of Hope for Seniors: The Alligators that Chase Us.” I am still going to write that book, but God has opened my heart and mind to reaching out to the millions of military soldiers, and veterans of this world.

The suicide rate in the military and the after life of the military is appalling. The rate is much higher than any other “Cooperation,” in the world.

I have been in the trenches. I am a veteran. I know about the loneliness. I know about the fear. I know about facing the unknown. I have sat on top of an isolated hill in Korea, alone wondering what the noises were I was hearing; wondering if someone was there to take my life from me.

This book could a very  important book for millions of people affected by the military.

I will update you on its progress, after my second book is published.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

All Storms End and Then There is the Son

We have had a big increase in subscribers lately! We just passed 630 subscribers! Time for a celebration! We have had 400 new people since the first of 2013.  This is wonderful for our site. I wonder if we can make it to 800 by January 1, 2014? Only 170 to go. You can make that happen. Please help us to continue to grow by also subscribing. I have had a hectic time as of late. I am spinning around in my head trying to decide what my next book will be after we finish my second book called, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” My co-author on this book, Dennis Booth, came up with the word weak in the title. It symbolizes the theme of the whole book, The book will be reaching out to those who suffer from anxiety, fear, depression, addictions, rejection, self-doubt, hopelessness, and the many other usual suspects.

We are nearing the half way point in getting the book done, and I hope you keep checking here to see the progress.

I also am looking ahead to what I need to write after this book is published. Here is where you the reader comes in. I am going to list several ideas I have for books in the future, and you tell me which one you would like me to write next:

  • Signs of Hope for Seniors: The Alligators that Chase us. This book will be dedicated directly to my fellow senior citizens who are the fastest growing population in the world. It will share thoughts on aging, financial concerns, illness, ways to cope, death, rejection, anxiety, or fear. There will be other topics, but I wanted to give you a taste of the food before it is even cooked. 🙂
  • Signs of Hope for the military: This one has been burning on my heart fro several months. I keep reading about how many suicides there are in the military. It is so sad. I am a veteran, and my son is a career soldier. He is an executive officer for an general at Ft Lewis Washington. This book will share my own stories while I was in the service; not getting letters from home; being isolated from others while on duty, the self-doubt, and loneliness. There are other stories that will help the soldiers or veterans cope  in a world that doesn’t always understand the way of a soldier.
  • Signs of Hope for the caregivers: I was a caregiver for my mother for several years before she passed. I will talk about the mental strain of seeing your loved one slowly lose their desire to want to go on. There will be stories of daily things that happened while caring for her. I will address the issue of the need for the caregiver to take care of themselves, even though it may seem selfish. May more thoughts and ideas will come out in this book.
  • Other books down the road that are just in the thinking stage: Signs of Hope for: teachers, mothers, dads, teens, etc. But first I need you to comment on the top three I have mentioned above. Which one do your think is the most important one to write next? Please respond. I do need you guidance.

Now for some thoughts for you to use to make your day go more smoothly, and give you comfort:

  • God made you in His own image. If He cares enough to do that, He will certainly care for your needs what ever they are. All you have to do is ask.
  • With God on your side, who can be against you.
  • 99% of what we worry about never happens. Turn the other 01% over to God.
  • Jesus is always there by your side. He will comfort you during your storms, and rejoice with you during your victories.
  • All storms end, and then there is the SON.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

It has been a while since I last posted. I had surgery on my neck to take out a bone spur, and the recovery is slow. Not only do I have problems with pain, I also can’t swallow solid food. I have to have soups, milkshakes, and juices. I love the milkshakes, but I getting very tired of soups.

I thought I would use part of this post to catch you up on where my writing is going, and what is coming up.

  • I have a literary agent interested in my work who is from Colorado-USA. If I connect with him a new world will open up. Tom Brady from the Patriots has an agent and has done pretty well with that. 🙂
  • My first book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” received a national award from the Reader’s Favorite Awards. I am very proud of that, and hope to continue writing the type of books people will like.
  • I have been working on my second book, which I am writing with Dennis Booth from New South Wales, Australia. It will be called, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” (Working title) It is a devotional, and has excerpts from my blog: www.dailysignsofhope.com. The blog has over 47,000 followers. Check it out yourself and see why. CLUE… the title gives away why so many people come there.

Now as I always do, no matter what the subject is above,  will share some thoughts that have helped me cope in this not so friendly world.

Are you walking on a treadmill and getting no where? Do you seem to go one step forward and two steps backwards?  Have you faced more than your share of trials and storms?

All of us have felt like there is a huge magnate on our shoulders dragging us down. We all have faced severe storms.

Yes, I personally have found that this is very hard to face. I am overwhelmed just like anyone else is.

The difference for me is that I know that I have a loving heavenly father who is watching over me. I know that He cares. He made us in His own image, and if He has done that, He will do what he can to help us through those storms and trials we face.

Yes, God does allow the storms, but He is there to help calm them.

Never feel alone. Never feel like God is far away some days. He is always near and will listen to your cries for help.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
