The adjutant general for the Oklahoma National Guard has defied the Defense Department by decreeing that none of his guardsmen will be punished for refusing to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

An enlisted airman used a four-cent piece of plastic to fix a multi-million dollar night vision problem in the Air Force.

“We’re just not going to all kick them out on the day of the deadline itself.” That’s from Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro, who said not all Marines who are unvaccinated against COVID-19 will be kicked out of the service after the vaccine deadline on Nov. 28th.

The only person charged in connection with the murder of Army Spc. Vanessa Guillén at Fort Hood, Texas, last year is trying to get the charges thrown out.

Skosh the Dog

While I was in Korea we had a company stray dog that made our Quonset hut home. She was a loving dog that was pretty small, and that is why we called her Skosh.

We had to protect her as much as we could, because the Korean people thought dogs were a delicacy. She wouldn’t last long in the village outside the Camp Red Cloud grounds.

Much to our surprise she got pregnant. We didn’t know there were any other dogs in the area. I guess when a dog is in heat, any dog will find them.

She had four little puppies. As soon as they were born, right in our hut, she took them and hid them. We feared for the lives of those puppies, and we were right. Within a week after Skosh moved them, she came back to our hut and never left. She obviously had lost her babies.

That was a sad time for the soldiers in my hut. We knew what had happened, but there was nothing we could do about it. Skosh wanted to raise her babies her way.

I find that this happens today in our lives. We do whatever we can to guide our children, and show them what we think is best for their lives, but they still go into unknown territories and see what they can find there.

It is hard to see some of the things that our children do, because we have done them and had the same results. We try to tell them about the trials they may face, but they want to do it themselves. The hard facts are that we need to let them seek their own paths, and hope they will walk the right way.

Proverbs 22:6 Says: Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

That can be our guide when we have children. We need to show them the right path, not just tell them about the right path. We should live by example, and when our children see what we do, they will want to do it too.

It is much like the old saying, “Monkey see, monkey do.”

If you don’t do drugs or alcohol and do take your children to church every Sunday you will have a better chance of having them grow up being good parents, and good citizens.

If you do have a problem with drugs and alcohol, you children have a much higher risk of following in your footsteps because they see it every day in their homes.

First one is a little funny to me.

An 84-year-old man in Germany has been ordered to pay a fine of 250,000 euros after he was discovered to have an arsenal of World War II-era weapons in his cellar. The arsenal included a 40-ton Panther tank, one of the best tanks of the war.

U.S. Air Force B-52 bombers and AC-130 gunships are back dropping airstrikes on Afghanistan in an attempt to stop the Taliban’s blitzkrieg throughout the country. But so far, it does not appear to be working: at least five more of Afghanistan’s 17 provincial capitals have fallen to the Taliban over the past week.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will ask for President Joe Biden’s approval by mid-September to make the COVID-19 vaccines mandatory. But it might be a lot easier said than done.

U.S. service members could face a range of punishments, including administrative separation and court-martial, for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes mandatory. Commanders have a “range of tools to try to help individuals make the right decisions,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on Tuesday.

Starting in October, the Air Force will break with decades of tradition by allowing its members to put their hands in their pockets while in uniform. The change is one of many grooming and uniform updates that loosen up restrictions for airmen (several of which involve hair).

I have been connected with a SFC in Kabul, Afghanistan. She is fearful that the city will be over run soon. She is very brave to be one of the last of the military still there. However, if the city is finally overrun, she is in a big harms way. The Taliban have no sense of mercy, and she will be killed.

I will keep you updated. We talk daily.

I saw a report on the new Apache helicopter. It will be awesome is much more deadly. It has tracking devices where no one can hide from them at all.

I have a buddy who was in Vietnam and he was a helicopter pilot. Great stories from him.

Joe Biden has one plan for the military that could cause a mutiny

A key Republican in Congress blew the whistle about a growing problem in the military.

It’s a direct result of Joe Biden’s policies.

And that’s because Joe Biden has one plan for the military that could cause a mutiny.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby hinted that Joe Biden could mandate the coronavirus vaccine for every member of the armed forces if the FDA gives one the vaccines full approval.

Currently the COVID vaccines are only approved under an emergency use authorization which also limits the ability of the government to mandate members of the military take the vaccines.

“Should the FDA approve it then I am certain Pentagon leadership will take a look at what our options are going forward, including the potential options of making it mandatory. But I’m not going to get too far ahead of process right now,” Kirby stated during a press briefing.

Kentucky Republican Thomas Massie announced on social media that he would introduce legislation preventing the government from mandating members of the military take the vaccines.

Massie introduced the legislation after the Congressman revealed that members of the military contacted him with their concerns about taking the COVID vaccines and that they would refuse and leave the service.

“I’ve been contacted by members of our voluntary military who say they will quit if the COVID vaccine is mandated. I introduced HR 3860 to prohibit any mandatory requirement that a member of the Armed Forces receive a vaccination against COVID-19,” Massie wrote.

In 1996 the government mandated all 2.5 million military members take an anthrax vaccine approved under an emergency use authorization.

This led to lawsuits as service members refused and were discharged.

The problem was so great that one government report found 25 percent of airmen leaving the military at the time did so over the vaccine mandate.

“A General Accounting Office report released in October found that as many as 25 percent of the pilots and aircrew members leaving the military or seeking transfers were leaving because of the vaccination program. Pentagon officials disputed the report, saying there is no exodus of personnel because of fears about the anthrax vaccine,” CNN reported back in May 2001.

Seems to be a pattern coming from President Biden that shows he has no respect for our military. We will see what comes from all this mess.

Honors Marching Soldiers

During my basic training there was an opportunity to be an honor guard. I didn’t seek the position, but my drill sergeant told me I was going to try out. When your drill sergeant speaks, you listen.

I went to the first “work-out,” and quickly knew I had a rough load ahead of me. They not only had you doing constant, repetitive, drills, but your boots had to shine so much you could see you face in them.

I made the squad, and then we concentrated on things we would do while we were marching. We did cadence songs. There was the twirling of the rifles in mid-air. Then we also did a halted maneuver of putting our rifles to the ground and tapping them twice and then flipping them up to our shoulders in one movement

We were in a local parade in Monterey, California. This was the town near Ft Ord where I did basic training. We marched and sang our cadence. WE twirled our rifles in and tapped them on the ground. The crowd loved it, and we were very proud to be representing the Army.

Some people want to forget their time in the military. Many of them are Vietnam veterans. I was so ashamed of our country when I started hearing stories of grief and verbal attack our soldier had to endure when they came back from Vietnam.

I come from a military family. I had three uncles who fought in WWII. My brother and I served, and my son just retired recently as a Colonel.
