I have three granddaughters spending the day with me today. All of them girls. I have had heavy yard work, cleaning out the attic, and many other strenuous types of work, but keeping grandchildren happy takes much more work, and is very tiring. ( I wouldn’t trade it for the world!)

Speaking of physical fatigue….

There is another type of fatigue. There is mental fatigue.

We can feel drained after a bad hair day. You have been there. Your car runs out of gas. Your doctor wants to go over some blood work with you. You just lost your job.

Life isn’t always fair. It sometimes jumps up and bites you.

This is the time to turn to God. He knows your troubles. He even allows them sometimes, to help us grow. But know this:

  • He is always there for you.
  • He will never forsake you.
  • He will help you calm the storms.

Don’t take on this, not so friendly world, alone. Rely on God to help you through the trials.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You ar enever forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above… Never, ever, give up!

Do You Think God May be Ignoring You?

I have a task ahead of me. I was told by an agent to submit a proposal to her on doing a series of books under the  title, of “Signs of Hope.” It would books for seniors, teens, military, mothers, fathers, teachers, etc. It wouldn’t  completely be like the series called “Chicken Soup for the Soul.” It would be more from my heart. It would be more like Max Lucado’s type of writing.

I have to put this proposal together soon. I have been thinking a great deal on what approach to use. I will keep you updated as to how it is going.

Have you wondered if God is there sometimes? Do you think He might be ignoring you?

I have been close a few times, but every time I even come close to thinking that God is far away, He steps in and soothes my soul much more than I ever expected, and brightens my darkened life.

I love the bumper sticker: “If you feel God is far away, guess who moved.”

Many think that when God comforts our hearts, our troubles should go away, but if that were so, people would turn to God only out of desire to be relieved of pain and not out of love for Him.

We must understand that being comforted can also mean receiving strength, encouragement, and hope to deal with our troubles. The more we suffer, the more God comforts us. If you are feeling overwhelmed, let God comfort you.

Remember, that every trial that you endure will help you to comfort someone else who is going through the same thing.

Also remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I am now updating you as to what is happening in my physical world.

I told you on Wednesday that I had my yearly physical, and at the end my doctor asked  me to do some further blood tests, because he was concerned about my kidneys.

I did the tests, and found that I had multiple cysts in both of my kidneys. My doctor said I needed to do one more test. I did a 24 hour urine test. All I do there is save all my urine for 24 hours and turn it into the lab.

I turned it in this morning, and about an hour later my doctor called, and he said he need to see me ASAP. I am scheduled to see him on Monday at 11:15am Pacific time.

I don’t know what he is going to be telling me. My wife said she would be there with me.

Yes, it is a little scary. Yes, I am worrying a little.

However, I have been through these kinds of storms before. I have had six major surgeries including quadruple by-pass heart surgery.

Each time I have faced either serious surgery or even death, and came through it, I became a little stronger in my faith.

I feel this is another big challenge to face. I don’t know the outcome.

In my devotions, I handed my kidneys over to my Lord. He has bigger shoulders than I have, and I know He will be there with me on Monday.

We all face trials, and fall into the muck and mire once and a while, but if we keep the faith that God will see us through it, we will be able to be an encouragement to those who may have to go through the same thing.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
