National Guard Called to be at Riots

What a wild week in our country! Things have gotten heated to an extreme. Businesses burning; people killed, and protesters by the hundreds. They even have called up the National Guard.

This is all over our country like Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles, All of Minnesota, Atlanta, Brooklyn, etc.

I completely understand the frustrations of the people from the killing of an unarmed man. I understand the desperation they see in our streets.

What I am very worried about is that they have called up the National Guard in all of these “war” zones. The problem is that these soldiers can’t even arrest someone. They can form barricades, Shot rubber bullets, etc. They have loaded weapons for self defense only.

This is a time bomb ready to explode.

It is hard enough to fight for your country in a foreign land, but to defend in your own backyard?? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!

I pray that there are level heads and no more violence.

I met with a Vietnam veteran for coffee. We shared our experiences while in the military. I asked about what it was like in Vietnam. Wrong question.

He was very bitter about the many friends that died around him.

He said that he turned down the Purple Heart when he was wounded, because he was still alive and his friends were gone.

My quest is to some day convince hin to accept it.

Trying to Make it Without God

It is very interesting to me how we think they can go through their daily routines, and survive without the help of God. People have gotten to a place where they do not want to depend on anyone else during their crises, or troubled times.

Why is it that someone can look you in the eye and tell you, “I can make it on my own?” You do not need to worry about me. Is it some kind of macho thing with men, and a worry of losing control for women and men?

I have learned that it is impossible to do my work unless I use the power of Jesus. I fear the unknown. I often have to face physical challenges. I see doors closing. I am not sure what I am suppose to do next in my life. Who should I turn to?

It is now easy for me to answer that question. I turn ALL of my concerns over the Jesus. He is walking with me down my path of life. He looks ahead and clears things for me. He helps me make decisions on hard issues. He is there when I have a physical need. He gives me directions when I am at a crossroad.

It is so easy to get complacent, and think we are tough, and reseleant. The truth is we will walk into the muck and mire if we do not have Jesus there to tell us which ways to go and what things to do.

If you are floundering, and in a spot where you have no where to turn to. talk to Jesus. If you haven’t accepted Him as your persoanl Savior, do it right now.

All you have to do is say this short prayer: “Lord, forgive me for any sins that may keep me from your love. I know I have not been as good a person as you would like for me to be. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, and I accept you as my personal Savior. In your Holy name, Amen.”

It is that easy. BUT it is not that easy from this moment on if you accepted Jesus into your heart. Statan is one very upset dude right now. He had you under his skin and he wants you back. You will face many tough trials and temptations. Find a friend that can be your earthly guardian angel. Call them when you are tempted. Call them several times  a day if you have to.

Things that may cause you to falter are:

anxiety, fear, self doubt, depression, addicatons, hoplessness, low self esteem, and many more that I know you can think of that I have not mentioned. Turn every one of them over to Jesus. He will carry you the rest of the way.

If you have any commets, please feel free to let me know.

A Funny Thing Happened to me on my way to be photographed.

Today was a big day for me! I met with Hillary Lodge who is a photographer, to get my photos done of me for my blog, and this website. I won’t see them for a few days until Hillary sends them to me. I must say that Hillary is an outstanding photographer, and anyone that needs author shots for their site or book should contact her. You can see her blog at www.hillaryonwriting.blogspot.com.

As we were walking through beautiful Hendricks Park in Eugene, Oregon we saw an amazing sight! Walking ahead of us were six wild turkeys in a gaggle, flock, herd, (I don’t know!!!) They didn’t seem to care that we were there. They just kept feeding and chasing each other around.

Now, as a person who looks for meaning in life, I am not sure if I want to know the meaning of this happening. I will just marvel at it happening, and let the turkeys move on.

I am excited about the photography session with Hillary. She had me standing in front of trees, sitting on benches, and smelling the flowers. Actually, there was one shot where we weren’t sure what the plant was that I was next to, but it looked like one of those creatures from the movie, where everyone was getting swallowed up by a huge man eating plant. I tried to stay as far away from it as I could!!

I have now gotten a few subscribers. I will be sending out over a thousand invitations to subscribe, as soon as I know that the site is at its top form. Then after that I will begin sending out the newsletter for those that have subscribed on the newsletter page.

You can look at some of my previous posts to see what else I will be putting in the newsletter. I do not want to be repeating myself.

I have been sending out submissions to magazines and newspapers for about three weeks now. I have ten submissions out. It takes time to get a reply, so I will wait patiently, chewing my fingers to nubbins!!

Let me know what you think of my posts, and website in general. Just make a comment to any post you read. Don’t be too harsh, I cry easily.
