Toughts just for you….

I have a pretty bad week. My mother is failing quickly. She is 95 years old, and she is very weak, and tired. She won’t eat much, and it is hear to get her to drink fluids.

With all the happening at once, I feel she will be with the Lord soon.

Also, my nephew Copper, was going up to Portland, Oregon for a routine doctor’s appointment, when they discovered there was something wrong with his lungs. He is only three four years old, but he is the most courageous little boy I have ever met.

They found that there was some obstruction in one of his lungs. The did a scan, and found out much more. His left lung had collapsed, and was filling back up with mucus from developing pneumonia in his lungs. They had to put him in ICU, and hook him up to a ventilator.

We visited his hospital room this afternoon and he seems better, He wanted to watch Scoobie-du and tried to listen to his own heart with the help of the nurses’ stethoscope.

Yes, some rain must fall on all of us at times. The storms seem to rage and toss us about. We need to rely on God for strength during these trials, and turn all our worries over to Him.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all….never, ever, give up!

Thoughts just for you…

Do you fee like the world has turned against you? Does there seem to be a cloud always hanging over your head. have you been over burdened with illnesses, etc?

You aren’t alone. I have been there considering I have had six major surgeries.

When I start having a pity party that no one likes to come to, I start thinking about some of the people in the Bible and what they had to go through.

What about Paul? He was shipwrecked more than once. He was beaten many times. He was even left for dead after people stoned him. He was in prison much of his life.

What about David? He was so afraid for his life, he had to spend some time hidden in a cave.

What about Joseph? His brothers hated him so much they sold him into slavery.

Then, of course, what about Jesus? He was beaten with a whip that had nails on the ends of it. He was spit upon and cursed at. He had to wear a wreath of thorns on His head. He had to carry His own death cross to the hill. He had to see His family mourning below Him from the cross. He had spikes driven into His feet and hands.

When I think of the torturous things so many of the great people in the Bible had to go through, especially our Lord and Savior, my little aches and pains seem so meaningless. My trials and storms are calm compared to others who suffered for me.

Try to put your trials and storms into perspective, and be thankful that you are still able to read this, and live a good life.

God is always there for you, no matter what your circumstances are.

Remember:

Yuu are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved,

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Thoughts just for you…

I had a very interesting last few days. It is called a wedding! My nephew and his future wife had the rehearsal dinner on Thursday night. The rehearsal went well, and we headed to the rehearsal dinner.

It was at a Greek restaurant. I have only been to a Greek restaurant a couple of time, and this was a great experience.

The food came in different courses. First we had several different kinds on appetizers.  The calamari was different in that it either had huge pieces of tenecles  from a larger octopus, or the whole octopus, but a tiny little ones. I had nothing to to with the little guys. I didn’t want them sliding down my throat.

The main course was wonderful. Lamb chops, and a Greek salad that was out of this world.

All this time wine bottles were being brought to the tables. Every Time there was an empty bottle they replaced it with a full one. Can you begin to know what the atmosphere was getting to be like?

Then after about an hour, a belly dancer came out and all the groomsmen went nutzo!!She did very well with the dollars being place on her (don’t know what it is called) Skirt?

Then it was Saturday, and the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. It was set in the woods near a river.

The pastor talked to the couple, and pronounced them man and wife.  Afterwards at the reception, was another “party,” with free wine and beer. It got pretty wild in there after a while. No one was overly drunk, but there were certainly a lot of very happy people.

This brings up the question about weddings:

If you are married can you tell me what was actually said by the person doing the ceremony? Most of us can remember the words, “to cherish, and to hold,” and “Til death do us part.” But what about what the Pastor said directly to you?

At this wedding this Pastor said, “Wives, submit yourselves to your husband. Support him through the trials, and and the happiness of life.  Husbands respect your wives, and treat them with love and compassion.

I can remember some of the words my Pastor used, and still try to be the best husband I can be to my lovely wife.

So, the wedding is over…now what? There will be days of shear joy, and days of hurt feelings, and little spats. It is called life.

Remember that you should love your spouse as much as the day you first married them. Many times the love grows into something much more wonderful. That is what has happened in my life.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

Above all….never, ever, give up!
