As we start a new year, we wonder what is ahead of us. We wonder if the seas will be calm, and if we can achieve more this year.

We don’t need to worry about tomorrow. Jesus  tells us that tomorrow has enough worries of its own. We need to concentrate on the here and now. What can we do today to make our future brighter?

We all make our New Year’s resolutions, but in reality they are only a list. They don’t happen if we don’t take action.

Think about what you want to accomplish this year, and go for it. No stammering. No hesitation. Just plodding ahead and making those dreams come true.

So many of us think we know what we want, and then never do it. We just need to take that first step.

I have committed myself to get back to writing on my books everyday. I never did nearly enough writing last year. I stumbled around wondering if I was good enough to be an author. Well, I already am one with my first book being published and doing well.

Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, by clicking on the “Bookstore,” tab at the top of this page.

Never feel you aren’t wise enough to accomplish your goals and dream. Go for it, and you will see that you are a much better person than you ever thought you could be!

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

It sometimes seems hard to trudge to work each day. Some jobs are not all that fun to go to. I was a very lucky man and worked as a teacher. The rewards were much brighter than the dark days of winter when I had to drive to work in the snow.

I did have those days when I wondered if I really wanted to get up and go to work. Then I would see a garbage man loading up someone’s garbage on a very raining day and the wind was blowing.

Sure I was going to a school where there are kids yelling and needing control, but to be out in the cold and shivering in a job that not many people would want to have made me glad to see the kids coming into my class. Besides, they always warmed me up with their smiling faces.

Do you have a kind of job that you wish you didn’t have? Do you drag yourself out of bed and force yourself to get ready? You aren’t alone. There are millions of people just like you. Off to work. Work hard all day. Come home, too tired to do anything but eat dinner and go to bed. Sound familiar?

God uses people in what ever job they may have. He doesn’t care if you dig ditches, or are a CEO for a huge business. He uses the meek, poor, rich, ordinary people of this earth.

What ever your lot is on life, God can use you. He will guide you to do far more wonderful things than you could ever imagine, if you just let Him.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

It is a compiling of posts that Dennis and I have been doing on my blog at: www.dailysignsofhope.com. There are 0ver 54,000 followers on that site, and it is because so many people are seeking hope and it is provided there.

I am finding more time to write on this site lately. It could be because God is telling me I need to spend ore time with you here.

This Site will have two functions:

  • Share with you what the latest news is on my writing, and new books that are coming out.
  • Write words of hope at the end of each of my post that you can cling to help you through those cloudy and stormy days.

I haven’t had much time to write the last two weeks because of the holidays. I did spend time reflecting over the year 2013.

It wasn’t a year that some would want to remember. I had a couple surgeries; an ablation on my heart, and a cardio version on my heart, and nothing seems to be helping right now. I see my cardiologist this Friday and we will come up with a new route to take.

I know…other than that how is your day?

My day is wonderful. I have such a supportive group of family and friends to help me through this storm.

I have slightly altered my plans for writing this year. I am still planning to finish my new book “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” I am writing this book with my good friend Dennis Booth in New South Wales, Australia. We are working hard on it , and it will come out some time this year.

Where I am changing my path will be for the next book after this one. I was going to write a book for seniors called, “Signs of Hope for Seniors: The Alligators that Chase Us.” I am still going to write that book, but God has opened my heart and mind to reaching out to the millions of military soldiers, and veterans of this world.

The suicide rate in the military and the after life of the military is appalling. The rate is much higher than any other “Cooperation,” in the world.

I have been in the trenches. I am a veteran. I know about the loneliness. I know about the fear. I know about facing the unknown. I have sat on top of an isolated hill in Korea, alone wondering what the noises were I was hearing; wondering if someone was there to take my life from me.

This book could a very  important book for millions of people affected by the military.

I will update you on its progress, after my second book is published.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
