Thoughts just for you…

As Christians, we are told we need to share our beliefs with others. We may do that amongst our friends, and acquaintances, but what about our own family?

Do you have a brother, or sister, that isn’t a believer? Does your parents scoff at you about your faith? What about your grandparents. Think ever further about you Uncles, Aunts, or even your nieces and nephews?

How sad it would be if you didn’t do your part in telling those who are close to you, and they lost their souls.

I know, it is much harder to talk to our loved ones. It is much harder to think of the right things to say, because if the fear that they will reject you, and cause a wall between you and them.

However, if we use that excuse for ever, we may lose some loved ones who never were challenged and were lost.

We don’t need to release fire and hail on our loved ones. We can share what a change it made for us to turn our lives over to God, and that we want them to feel the same love.

Then we need to pray. We need to pray daily that the seed we just planted will grow into a new soul. believe me they will remember the little you said each time they see you. You never have to “hound,” them about it ever again.

Prayer takes over. Pray without ceasing, and the outcome will be a blessed event of that love one eventually submitting themselves to God.

I am not an authority on this except that too have some close loved ones who are not willing to accept the Christian life as yet. I will not stop my quest to keep praying daily for them. My reward is eternal life for those who eventually give their hearts to God.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

The Christian Life is a Process of Becoming More Like Christ

Thoughts just for you…

The Christian life is a process of becoming more and more like Christ. (Romans 8:29)

We need to purify ourselves. What does purify mean? It means to keep morally straight, free from the corruption of sin. God also purifies us, but there is action we must take to remain morally fit. (I Timothy 5:12) (James 4:8) (Ipeter 1:22.)

We need to also know the difference in commiting a sin and continuing to sin. Even the most faithful sometimes commit sins, but they don’t cherish a particular sins and choose to commit it. A believer who commits a sin repents, confesses and finds forgiveness. A person who continues to sin, is not sorry for what they are doing. Thus this person never confesses and never receives forgiveness. Such a person is in opposition to God no matter what religious claims they make.

Three steps are necessary to find victory over sin:

  1. Seek the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word.
  2. Stay away from tempting situations.
  3. Seek the help of the body of Christ. Be open to their willingness to hold you accountable and pray for you.

So, live your life in a way that you can feel peace with your heavenly Father. Obey His ways, and believe that He sent His only Son down to this earth to die for you and me.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all… never, ever, give up!

Does God Owe you Something?

Have you ever thought that God owes you something? Did you do some good deeds and expected something in return?

You are probably saying that you wouldn’t think of ever doing that. However there seems to be many people today who do try to do that.

They want God to jump through their hoops, and not try to merit any reward from God.

Many people pray for God to “give,”  them something.

We all pray to have God heal the sick, and dying. We all pray to have God help us cope through each day, but do we go too far sometimes?

Think on this:

  • We can’t make God jump through our hoops, but we try all the time.
  • Religion is not how we get God to do what we want, But how we learn how to do what God wants.
  • No one can save us from the quicksand of sin, except our LORD and Savior.
  • Sins destroy your relationship with God,  but confession restores it.
  • Confession is the reset button in our lives. All we have to do is push the reset button. Jesus will do the rest.

Let’s talk more about the last point. Have you ever played a video game, and a I-Box game, and saw that when you were about to die, all you had to do was hit the reset button and you are alive and well again, and can start over.

Wouldn’t that be great for our lives? Well, it is there for the taking. We sin many times, and feel that there is no way that god could loves us after all of that. It is not true. God will allow us to confess our sins and start over. We have our own built in reset button for our own lives.

Some thoughts on how we benefit from the love of God:

  • True abundance is found in the everlasting love of God.
  • True satisfaction ifs found in listening to; trusting in, and obeying God words.
  • God’s perfect peace is always found in God’s accessible presence.

Always plan to do everything for God, and not expect anything in return. His love  will come even more to you if you do.
