Today I go to have my toenails clipped. It’s called old age. I can not bend down enough to clip my own. The old soldier is now 84, and feeling it. No war wounds, but pain from a jeep accident I had back in 1961. I am still trying to get the VA to give me compensation for that.

Never give up if you feel you should be getting compensation. I can see that they stall, and are hoping you will die before you get your just do. Don’t let them do that.

The are many stories about the military that have been forgotten, but I interviewed four WWII veterans for my new book, and they are amazing. Each one had a near death experience. They didn’t do anything heroic, but put their lives on the line.

The book is called, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.

Troops will still get paid as Congress avoids government shutdown
The deal came only a few hours before the deadline.

The government shutdown was a big threat to the troops. They could have lost their income if it did shutdown, but congress, passed funding hours d=before the deadline.

This is a silly problem we have every year or so. The problem why it isn’t agreed on, is that so many politicians want to add their favorite toys on as bills.

This is totally wrong to hold the bill up for ransom just because they want something just for themselves.
