Time to be Strong in a Not so Friendly World

It has been an interesting two months. I have been grounded in my home because of underlining problems with my health. Can’t go to a restaurant. Can’t meet friends and talk. Can”t hug my kids and grandchildren.

There are many other no, noes. However I am sure you know them.

So what can we do?

Some suggestions:

  1. Yes, you can watch TV all day.
  2. Go for walks. My wife and I went walking this afternoon. It was hot, and I struggled, but I am glad I went.
  3. Call ALL your family and friends and see how they are doing. Yes, this may take several days. Here’s what happens: You put a smile on their face, and because of that you have one too.
  4. Read! What a perfect time to sit in your favorite chair and read. I can recommend my first book, Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World. I am sold out, but it is on Amazon as an e-book. I also suggest the Bible. Lots of drama, happy endings, sad endings, and lots of hope.
  5. Get creative around your house. I took on cleaning out two cupboards in the bathroom. They both were a mess. When I was done they were well organized, and I felt proud.

As a veteran what is happening is very hard on me. I am use to structure, but not this bad. I would rather be able to go where I want to when I want to.

How are you doing?

Are you climbing the walls? Is your temper a little loose? Do you want to stay in bed instead of facing the day. You aren’t alone. There are many other veterans in the same boat with you.

Stay Strong!

Be an asset to your family not a hindrance. Show leadership and keep your family happy.

I haven’t posted for almost two months. I have had adversity in its highest form, and it has slowed me down.

I lost my mother on February 1st. She was 95 years old, but there is still a time of grieving when you lose a loved one. I also had some health issues with my heart. I have A-Fib, and a damaged heart from a previous heart attack.

I also lost a dear friend within hours of my mother’s death.

I am back now, and still strong with the Lord.  All this adversity seemed to make me even stronger. It made me think of how short a life time we have on this earth, and that we need be thankful for every day we have.

As I mentioned up in the lead in area my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, has been out in eBook form for about a year. However, we just lowered the price from $4.99 to $2.99. That is quite a savings. Please check it out by clicking on the Amazon icon on the right. Think of Easter coming and how it could help many through the storms of life.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Thoughts just for you…

The Christian life is a process of becoming more and more like Christ. (Romans 8:29)

We need to purify ourselves. What does purify mean? It means to keep morally straight, free from the corruption of sin. God also purifies us, but there is action we must take to remain morally fit. (I Timothy 5:12) (James 4:8) (Ipeter 1:22.)

We need to also know the difference in commiting a sin and continuing to sin. Even the most faithful sometimes commit sins, but they don’t cherish a particular sins and choose to commit it. A believer who commits a sin repents, confesses and finds forgiveness. A person who continues to sin, is not sorry for what they are doing. Thus this person never confesses and never receives forgiveness. Such a person is in opposition to God no matter what religious claims they make.

Three steps are necessary to find victory over sin:

  1. Seek the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word.
  2. Stay away from tempting situations.
  3. Seek the help of the body of Christ. Be open to their willingness to hold you accountable and pray for you.

So, live your life in a way that you can feel peace with your heavenly Father. Obey His ways, and believe that He sent His only Son down to this earth to die for you and me.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all… never, ever, give up!
