Exciting news! We have a new book on the way that I am writing with Dennis Booth, from New South Wales, Australia. It will be called, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” (Working Title.) It is a compiling of posts that Dennis and I have been doing on my blog at: www.dailysignsofhope.com. There are 37,500 followers on that site, and it is because so many people are seeking hope and it is provided there.

*Update: This is July 21st, and we have the book 1/3 done. Many parts of the book have been sent to the editor. We are projecting a late August publishing date. Stand tuned for further updates.

It has been a very busy, stressful, unnerving, and wonderful time around here for the last month. We have been living out of boxes. We had the whole inside of our home re-painted. It was so distracting. I had a hard time concentrating on my computer work.

Now we have most of the boxes empty, and much of our belongs put away. We have a chance to look at what we were trying to accomplish. the inside of our home is so beautiful now. New paint; new wall hangings, etc. It’s like we moved into a new home.

Haven’t had much time to work on my new book, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” I am also dealing with a bone spur in my neck that is causing numbness down both arms. I can’t type for very long, but I will have surgery next month and I should be fine.

All this showed me that even though we sometimes go through some raging storms in our lives, we know that the storms end. There will be another day. There will be better things around the next bend in the road.

Have you had times when you were all stress out, and distracted by the turmoil going on around you? Has the world been pulling you down like a huge magnate?

You need to stop and take a rest from the rat race for a while. You know what? Even rats rest, so you should too.

Take time to be silent and get to know God better. Spend time in a quiet setting and read His word. Talk to Him through your prayers. You will find peace and joy in the world that is on a fast course.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all….never, ever, give up!

Some people have asked, “How could you know what to write on your author page and blog?” That is a very good question.

I often don’t know what I am going to write until I start hitting the keys on the computer. God directs me often.

I have been through many physical and mental afflictions in my life, and so has my partner Dennis Booth at www.dailysignsofhope.com.

We use those experiences to put down thoughts that help those suffering from the same things. It lead to my first book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.” That book starts out telling you of my lowest time in my life, when I was sitting in my Ford Explorer, contemplating suicide. The book has sold well, and there will be several more coming out with the “Signs of Hope,” theme.

One of the things that all of us need is comfort. We all need reassurance. We all need to know someone cares. The “Signs of Hope” books lets everyone know someone cares. They will give reassurance and give them comfort.

Are you one of those who are seeking answers? Do you keep all your hurts to yourself? Do you feel failure when you have to ask for help. I have been there myself. I know what you are going through.

It is the silence that is hard on us. We want to let others into our world and help, but we are ashamed to need that help.

Don’t ever be that way anymore. I sought help from God, and my family. I opened up to them, and my life changed.

You are a special person to God. He loves you. He cares for you. He will protect you through the storms of your life. He made you in His own image. Don’t you think He will help you when He sees you as His child?

One last thought…If God is for us, who can be against us?

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all….never, ever, give up!

How much can a person take? What is the breaking point?

I have been asking myself that lately. Since 2004 I have had many afflictions. In 2004 it was quadruple by-pass surgery. Then what followed over the years were two back surgeries, a gall bladder surgery, an Achilles tendon surgery, pace maker surgery, and a partridge in a pear tree. 🙂

It hasn’t stopped. Just a month ago I started having strong AFIB action with my heart. I became very tired quickly. I had an angiogram done, and it was decided that not only had I had a heart attack in the last few years, but my AFIB was out of control. It was active 90% of the time. They will be doing a “Flutter Ablasion,” on May 1st.

Then I started having tremors in my left arms. I can’t even hold a glass without spilling the contents. I found out that I may need surgery on my neck vertebrates to correct it.

So, I am a walking medical gem. The doctors know me by my first name! They may name a ward of the hospital named after me. I support a lot of people.

How could I be so cheery? How could I find humor in all of these afflictions I have had in the past and continue to have?

This may be hard to comprehend, but I find joy in using all these “thorns,” to witness to others who are going through the same things.  I use my afflictions to comfort others.

God doesn’t promise us a rose garden. He knows that there will be storms in our lives. Sometimes He will allow the storms to help us grow in strength when we overcome the storm. God won’t stop the storms, but He will help calm them.

God loves us and doesn’t really like seeing us going through pain, or hardships, but think on this:

He sent his only Son to die for us. What pain that must have caused Him! What agony He went through seeing His Son hanging on that cross, and yet He allowed it. Why? Because He loves us so much He felt He had to sacrifice His only Son to save our lives.

For those who believe, it is easy to understand why we go through some of the storms we go through. All we have to do is think of the pain and agony that Jesus went through so that we may have eternal life.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
