Some thoughts for you…

When we says words to try to hurt someone, it usually comes  back to bite you. Think of it as drinking from a doctor’s office waiting room drinking fountain. Nothing good can come out of that.

The same is true if we attempt to hurt someone with our words. Belittling words cause deep scars. They may never go away, and it is too late once you blurt them out.

I think of the story of a little boy that was out of control at school. He bullied other kids; called them names, and had many crying. The principle met with the boy and his father. The father said he would take care of it.

he told the boy to put some nails and a hammer out on the back deck table, and every time he got angry or wanted to hurt someone verbally he was to pound  a nail into the fence.

The boy quickly had put many nails in the fence, but with time it decreased. Eventually he stopped saying hurting things to kids at the school. He was proud and told the dad.

The dad then said, pull out one nail, each time you say something nice about someone. it took a while to get started, but eventually he was able to pull all the nails out. He was proud and showed his father.

The dad said very good my son, but look, there is still the holes in the fence. They will never go away, and that is what happens when you hurt someone with your words.

Learn from this that you can hurt deeply by just one thing you have said.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never unloved.

You are never forsaken.

And above all…never, ever,  give up!
