Military suicides rose in 1st quarter of 2023 compared to same time last year, Pentagon report says
The Army had the greatest increase in suicide deaths, from 37 to 49. The Marine Corps increased from eight to 14. The Air Force had one additional suicide compared to 2022 and there was no change for the Navy or Space Force, the Defense Department report states.

How easy it is to forget. We should never forget the disaster in Afghanistan. It was a huge embarrassment for the US. Lost American lives. Thousands of Afghan people stranded. Hundreds of Americans left high and dry.

It couldn’t have gotten much worse, and it seems the White House may have successfully covered it up.

The report is the result of many months of investigations by Biden’s administration into the decision-making process of leaving Afghanistan. Many aspects of the pullout were chaotic, and led to 13 U.S. service members being killed near a gate of the Kabul airport by a pair of suicide attacks.

I have started planning for a huge book signing event in my hometown. It will be at the convention center. I am reaching out to find some sponsors to pay for the room. The room holds 160 people. I will have guest speakers, and have several WWII veterans there.

Afghan Interpreter Rescued by Marine Officer Denied Visa to Stay in US

Maj. Tom Schueman co-authored the book Always Faithful along with his former interpreter Zainullah “Zak” Zaki about how the two men formed a friendship in Afghanistan that culminated with Schueman working feverishly in August 2021 to make sure that Zak and his family would be among the 124,000 people rescued by the U.S. military after the Taliban captured Kabul.

Not enough people in the private sector are grateful for the military people who serve. I also have been told that they are spending too much on the military. I do not get angry, I just wonder what it would be like if there wasn’t any military to protect them.
