Find Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World

I am enjoying some time visiting my daughter-in-law in LaPine, Oregon. It is way out in the middle of central Oregon away from any big cities, and at night there aren’t any city lights. I am able to type this around a camp fire tonight, and be able to see the Big Dipper about as clear as you could possibly see it. The stars tonight are aglow with the splendor that only our God could create.

Do you see the lights well? Is the hindrance from outside sources making your view of the lights dim?

Many of us have been there. At one time I was totally in the dark, feeling around trying to find my way in life. I battled depression, anxiety, fear, self-doubt, and many of the other afflictions that block our view of life.

Then I opened my heart to the LORD, and the lights came on. I could see for ever. I knew that the LORD took on all of my afflictions  so that I would have the burden of them anymore.

Stop letting the world pull you down like a huge magnate. Turn all your worries over to the LORD.

Many of the afflictions I spoke of above are part of a new book I have written called, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.”

Life is, at Best, Uncertain

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Lots of sun, and in the 70’s. Today is dark, and rainy. What can I say….it is Oregon. We have the saying here, “wait five minutes,” as far as what the weather may be from minute to minute.

That happens in our lives. We never know from one minute to the next what we may be facing. Life is at best uncertain.

How do we cope with days like this?

It is called prayer. We should start out each day sharing our needs, and be praising God for His love, before we enter the daily rat race. God is there to listen, and will be with us where ever we go.

With God on our side, who can be against us?

The sales of my new book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” is still going well. I just had a signing at a local winery and did quite well.

Why is this book doing so well? It is because it shares ways to cope in that rat race above I was talking about. It helps those who are battling anxiety, fear, depression, hopelessness, addictions, self-doubt, etc. It starts out telling my own story of how I was at the end of my rope, and was considering checking out of this hotel called earth.

It then sends out messages to help the reader find ways to battle the trials and storms of life.

You can have this book for s special price right now. In the stores the book price is $19.99, but if you order from this site it is only $15.99. The shipping has been cut in half as well. A total savings of over $6.00.

When you order you will also be sent an autographed copy with a personal note.

I hope you will at least go to the top of the page and click on the “Bookstore,” tab, and read to description of the book. You might also check out some impressive endorsements, by clicking on that tab at the top.

Stay strong, and never ever give up!

Border’s Books Claims Bankruptcy

I just had some bad news today. Borders Books is claiming bankruptcy. I did a signing at my local Borders store in Salem, Oregon on November 6th. I have not received payment for  the books I sold there yet. It has been over ninety days.

The manager told me on the phone that another company has taken over paying the bills, and I will have to fill out a claim to try to get my payment from Borders. It doesn’t look good, but God is in charge, and what ever happens, it was meant to be.

I will keep you posted each day on the progress of this continuing saga.

Think on this:

  • All things work to the good to those who believe.
  • Life will go on if something happens in your life that is devastating. God has a plan , even through this storm.
  • Those who persevere, are the ones who will have many crowns when they are in heaven.
  • It is always darkest just before the morning dawn.
  • Wait on the LORD, because He is with you always.
