We Sometimes Wonder Where God is

I just received notice that I will be one of the authors doing signings at the Oregon State Fair this year. That should fun.

If you are in that area from August 26th- September 5th, drop by and say hello!

I told you that I was in eastern Oregon Visiting my daughter-in-law this week. It has been a wonderful experience. Spending time with her has been a blessing.

I was just outside to get some fresh air, and two quails walked right in front of me. They didn’t seem to be too afraid, as long as I didn’t make any sudden movements.

At night the skies here are incredible. There are no city lights here and the brilliance of the stars takes your breath away.

This reminds me that God created everything we see. The majesty of the snow capped mountains I’ve been seeing all this week are a good example.

Sometimes we wonder if God is there. We have times when everything seems to go wrong. The car won’t start and you are late for work. The illness you thought had gone away is back again with a vengence. That job you have had for years has disappeared.

This brings on the usual suspects we face: anxiety, depression, self-doubt, addictions, fear, etc.

I understand most of those afflictions. I have felt lost, and didn’t know what to do. Then I found that God was there and He has been there for me ever since.

If you are having some of these difficulties, there is a new book that I had published called, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.” It is full of examples that shares common sense ways to cope in a not so friendly world.

There is a special sale going on right now. In the stores the books is $19.99, but if you order directly from this site you will be paying only $15.99. the shipping is also cut in half. A total savings of over $6.00.

To take a look at the book, just go to the “bookstore,” tab at the top of this page. When you click on it, you will see a description, and picture of the cover.  There is aa “endorsement,” tab at the top that shows some wonderful endorsements. Check that out as well.

I hope you take a couple minutes to check it out. It could chnage your life, or someone you love.

Find Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World

I am enjoying some time visiting my daughter-in-law in LaPine, Oregon. It is way out in the middle of central Oregon away from any big cities, and at night there aren’t any city lights. I am able to type this around a camp fire tonight, and be able to see the Big Dipper about as clear as you could possibly see it. The stars tonight are aglow with the splendor that only our God could create.

Do you see the lights well? Is the hindrance from outside sources making your view of the lights dim?

Many of us have been there. At one time I was totally in the dark, feeling around trying to find my way in life. I battled depression, anxiety, fear, self-doubt, and many of the other afflictions that block our view of life.

Then I opened my heart to the LORD, and the lights came on. I could see for ever. I knew that the LORD took on all of my afflictions  so that I would have the burden of them anymore.

Stop letting the world pull you down like a huge magnate. Turn all your worries over to the LORD.

When We’re lost in a Storm, God makes it a Beautiful Sunset

There is a huge happening on my blog at www.dailysignsofhope.com.  In the last four days over 700 people have signed up for the RSS feed. There is no concrete reason for it happening except for a lady friend of my partner and I suggested we use more of our SEO capabilities, and that is all she said. We are thinking that since she is an expert, she did something to help us by backtracking, or pinging back our site to her own site which has thousands of followers. What ever happened, God certainly has some kind of plan ahead. Stand by and see what that may be.

BTW…. You could do two things on this site as well.. You could also click on the RSS feed area at the top of this page and sign-up to get feeds directly to your mail box from this site. I would honored if you did.

You can also go over to the right side bar, and click on “Follow this blog,” at the NetworkedBlogs icon. You can see that there are already many people doing that there.

I went to a workshop last night, and I had a pleasant surprise. The guest speaker was Sean Jones, who is the person who is the acquisition editor at Inkwater Press.

I met with him afterwards, and mentioned that I am looking for a traditional publisher to publish my self published book.

He was very open to the idea, and told me to send him a copy of my book.

Now, that would have never happen if I didn’t go to that workshop. I almost didn’t. I was tired and had a slight fever. I went anyway, and a door opened!!

That brings to mind that we never now when God may open a door for us. It may seem like we are sinking in the muck and mire, but God still may have plans for us. We need to keep praying and asking God for guidance.

Just when we feel all is lost in the storm, God changes the whole horizon into  a beautiful sunset.
