Why is There so Much Pain and Agony?
Today is Thanksgiving. Do we have anything to be thankful for? There are wars going on; floods killing people; the economy is stagnate. What do we have to be thankful for in this troubled world?
Clear your mind of all of the garbage and think “little.” What I mean about that is think about the little things that are important in your life.
Not all of us are blessed with each of these gifts from God, but if you are, then you should have a wonderful Thanksgiving:
- If you can walk, write letters, sing in the choir, lift a child, or drive a car, be thankful.
- If you have a home; paid all the bills this month; are having many loved ones meeting together today, be thankful.
- If you have children, a job, health insurance, be thankful.
- If you can climb a stairs, swim, ride a bike, be thankful.
- If you was able to go to college, have a great job, or are married, be thankful.
- If you are comfortably retired, traveling, and hugging grand children, be thankful.
I think you get the picture. We have so many things to be thankful for. We take them for granted. We see the horrible events in the world and get caught up in the massive pity party that is going on. You can over dose on the poison from that party.
When you sit down at the table to share food with all of your family, look around. Think about each person. What do they bring in your life to be thankful for? Look at the food. Be thankful that you have a table full of delicious food. Enjoy the whole day of laughter, watching football, eating pumpkin pie, and sipping a glass of wine.
Then sit back in a comfortable chair at the end of the day, and thank God for all the blessings you have!!
May God bless you this day and all the days of your life!!___________________________________________________

Trying to Make it Without God
It is very interesting to me how we think they can go through their daily routines, and survive without the help of God. People have gotten to a place where they do not want to depend on anyone else during their crises, or troubled times.
Why is it that someone can look you in the eye and tell you, “I can make it on my own?” You do not need to worry about me. Is it some kind of macho thing with men, and a worry of losing control for women and men?
I have learned that it is impossible to do my work unless I use the power of Jesus. I fear the unknown. I often have to face physical challenges. I see doors closing. I am not sure what I am suppose to do next in my life. Who should I turn to?
It is now easy for me to answer that question. I turn ALL of my concerns over the Jesus. He is walking with me down my path of life. He looks ahead and clears things for me. He helps me make decisions on hard issues. He is there when I have a physical need. He gives me directions when I am at a crossroad.
It is so easy to get complacent, and think we are tough, and reseleant. The truth is we will walk into the muck and mire if we do not have Jesus there to tell us which ways to go and what things to do.
If you are floundering, and in a spot where you have no where to turn to. talk to Jesus. If you haven’t accepted Him as your persoanl Savior, do it right now.
All you have to do is say this short prayer: “Lord, forgive me for any sins that may keep me from your love. I know I have not been as good a person as you would like for me to be. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, and I accept you as my personal Savior. In your Holy name, Amen.”
It is that easy. BUT it is not that easy from this moment on if you accepted Jesus into your heart. Statan is one very upset dude right now. He had you under his skin and he wants you back. You will face many tough trials and temptations. Find a friend that can be your earthly guardian angel. Call them when you are tempted. Call them several times a day if you have to.
Things that may cause you to falter are:
anxiety, fear, self doubt, depression, addicatons, hoplessness, low self esteem, and many more that I know you can think of that I have not mentioned. Turn every one of them over to Jesus. He will carry you the rest of the way.
If you have any commets, please feel free to let me know.

Final Hours of Promotion is Here. 15 Hours Left!
The time has come to end the second promotion for free books. Someone will win the controversial top selling book, What’s so Great About Christianity,by Dinesh D’Souza, right after midnight on Friday 5-15-09. That means you only have about 15 hours left as of this writing. This book is autographed by the author, Dinesh D’Souza.
Our very first giveaway was a huge success. If you didn’t get your subscription in before the end of that one, you missed out on winning one of the hottest books on the planet right now called, The Shack, by William Paul Young. It is even autographed. I have about three left and they will be given out in a future promotion.
I am happy to announce the ones that won the book:
- Linda Schaefer-Oregon
- Shelley Ledfors-Oregon
- Shelley Sheehan-Oregon
- Rick Stein- Nevada
- Anne Anderson-Oregon
Some of the responses from the winners:
“Wow!”
“I’m excited. It’s not often I win in a drawing.”
“Very cool!”
“Thank you!”
“Go BEAVS!”
That makes me feel so good. I love it when people get excited, and I was the one that caused it.
Don’t get too comfortable however. There will be a new promotion starting on Saturday 5-16-09! The book that will be given away for that promotion is very timely. The book is called, How to Win Over Worry, by John Edmund Haggai. John is the founder of Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training.
Some topics he discusses in this book are:
- Improve you home life
- Increase you financial security
- Control negative feelings
- Handle put-downs and criticism
- Control your thoughts
- Catch the habit of optimistic living
- Improve your health
- Enjoy endless energy
- Overcome the crippling misery of guilt
- Utilize the privilege of prayer
There are several other topics that you can read about to help you make it through these tough times.
This book has sold over 2 million copies. That means that it has been a book that many people look to for help.
The only way you can have a chance to win this book is to sign up for my free newsletter. That is it! You will then be put in to a drawing to win the book. This new promotion will end at midnight June 12th. Get your name in NOW to make sure you are doing it. Don’t tell yourself you will come back later and do it. Most people forget and don’t do it.
So, be sure to get your subscription in now for the drawing today, and that will also put you in the drawing for the new promotion. You will see the icon that says, “Sign up for my free newsletter,” over on the right sidebar. Click on it, and put in your email address. That is it. You will then be put in the drawing.
If for any reason you do not like the newsletter, (I hope not,) you can opt out at the bottom of the newsletter. I have a very low rate of people opting out. I think it is because of the quality of the newsletter. BUT that is just me talking. You tell me yourself.
BTW…. For every new person YOU get to sign-up, you will get another chance to win. That means if you get 10 people to sign-up, you will have 11 chances to win. All you will have to do is let me know by emailing me the addresses of who they are. I will then look up their email addresses, and if they are there you will get another chance to win for each one you get to sign-up.
This is great fun for me, and you benefit from not only winning a free book, but receive a quality newsletter as well.
You ask….. What is in the newsletter???? I am glad you asked.
There are four pages to the newsletter:
The first page is my introduction to what is in the newsletter for that particular issue, plus excerpts from my book, Close Encounters of the Heavenly Kind: Life beyond Bumper Stickers. I sent out manuscripts to many people and I am getting some wonderful endorsements coming in, which I will be putting on this site as they come in. (See the endorsement tab at the top.)
Another page has my travel experiences. I also have many guest writers writing about their travel experiences. I will have one in the next issue from a young man that went on a trip to the Panama Canal area. You will be amazed to see the progression of his thoughts from the time he started to when his trip ended. It is a transformation that is pretty cool.
One page will have resources to help those that want to know how to cope in a hostel world. There will be articles from all over the world about anxiety, fear, depression, and self doubt.
The last page is a very popular sports page. I realize this is an unusual page to have on an author site, but I love sports, and I have many readers that do too. My main thrust is talking about Oregon State University sports. Read the latest about what is happening in OSU sports.
Get those people to sign-up! Win a free book. It might as well be you! The people who won above didn’t think they had a chance, but they won anyway!!
OUT!
